Re: Dreaming of a Next Gen Atari - one can Dream!

What is my idea and Roadmap behind EasyAraMint, Beekey, BeePi ? Basically the user experience and offer a complete DIY platform. Aranym is fairly complexe to setup and a standard user will definitely run out in front of it ; this leads me to EasyAraMint, but the final result was not really user fri...

Re: Flight Sims

Great Topic ! :D I am currently playing F-19 on Mist (thanks to Pera's adaptation) and it brings back a lot of good memories. Other flight sims I played a lot back in the days are Falcon and Fighter Bomber. I have yet to discover Flight of the Intruder and F-15 Strike Eagle II (@ Pera : if one day y...

Re: When did you have your first 16bit Atari?

I got mine (a 1040 STF + SC1224) for Christmas 1987, after a TI99/4A several years before. I used my Atari daily up until 1995, when I switched for a dumb PC.

I still have my Atari, but it needs some maintenance...

Re: How did you get your first Atari computer? Another Poll.

I was 10 at that time, it was in 1987, my dad bought it (a 1040 STF with a SC1224 monitor) for Christmas. Until that time the computer we owned was a TI99/4A. I cannot tell you the awesomeness of discovering my first ST game on the screen. IIRC the first game launched was Crazy Cars II (not the best...

MIST with skin...

Hello everyone, Following a post by karabasbarabas (here : http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=101&t=24583&start=1650#p278484 ) and thanks to him for the design of a MIST skin, I tried to do it for my little machine. Results are not as good as they could have been, my blade was not th...

Re: MIST compatible A1200 cases

That would be really great Till, as it would retain the practical and portable package of the MIST but with a more adapted casing (keeping the "retro" feeling as well).

Re: Atarimania News

Good sumary of the different solutions by AtariZoll. Unfortunately, I can only speak from a user perspective, but coming from the real hardware, then emulators and now a "hardware emulator" (the MIST), one of the most comfortable way of playing my old games is the hard drive adaptat...

Re: Suggestion for forum section dedicated to preservation

Quite new in this community, but generally speaking regarding preservation, I think I am with Pera on this, future seems to be more in images...

Concerning the MIST, the current firmware only support *.ST images, not *.STX (maybe in the future, but only Till can answer that).

@ Till, as indicated by Karabasbarabas, you can order the skin here : http://www.skinit.com It can be printed on a generic 13" laptop skin. This what I intend to do in the near future :)

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

I think I may try this skin in a near future... ;) Just (maybe dumb or stupid) question, but as there are no marks for cutting the connections holes, how did you manage to cut them so nicely ? (specifically the circular ones like the buttons and midi ports) Regarding colors, I think I am more on the...

Re: MIST compatible A1200 cases

I think given how small the MiST is a nice retro looking case could be made that could be either 3d printed or cheaply manufactured for a lot cheaper, and just continue to use external peripherals. I think so, something like the "Armiga" project : http://www.armigaproject.com/ The curent ...

Re: MIST compatible A1200 cases

That is great news, but it opens some questions regarding the adaptation and how the board will be fitted inside such case (specifically regarding keyboard, card reader...). I will certainly support this KickStarter project very soon ! ;)

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

If this is confirmed (it seems so as the KickStarter page has been updated), a dedicated topic would give this news more visibility. The ability to put a MiST (or a Rasp.) in such case would be great (it is something I am looking for, even if I am more of an Atarist ;) ), but the financing is still ...
