Re: Epson SMD-340 hd select

Troed, thank you for sharing. I've had success using your modification to the SMD-340 with an Elco HD module in a 520STfm. I attached a wire to the location you identified on the SMD-340 board and connected that wire directly to the Elco's "Pin 1" on the "3 way connector." FullSi...

SUCCESS!!!

Thank you - czietz, DarkLord, Arne, joska, rj1 and exxos!

Even with newbie soldering skills it works. I now have 1.04US TOS on M27C1001 working on my STacy.

Re: 2 versions of SMD-340, need help

Thanks, Just what I needed. I did the connection for data pin 1-2, Jumper 5-13. No change. I switch jumper all around to all combinations, no change. . For what its worth: today, I used the factory default jumper settings (except for DS0) when I attached my Epson 340, to an Elco HD adapter in a STF...

Re: Firing up the TT030 after 15 Years

Hello Jim,

Welcome back!

Quick answer = yes, probably. Don't forget your SCSI basics, (ID, and termination.)

Quick question before you swap syquest for maxtor: any reason not to back up to the syquest? It may avoid extra work.

Re: program EPROM’s of TOS 1.04US for a STacy?

Just checked. The EPROMs in my 1Mb board are 571001D. I did not know that these did not have standard JEDEC pinout: The TC571000D is JEDEC standard pin configuration and the TC571001D is compatible with 28 pin 1M bit Mask ROM. Both products are packed in 32 pin standard cerdip package. So that's pr...

Re: program EPROM’s of TOS 1.04US for a STacy?

The pin numbers are right, it should just read: 1) M27c1001 connect Pin 24 (/OE) to Pin 16 (GND) 2) M27c1001 connect Pin 2 (A16) to STacy socket location 24 Super! Thank you, czietz! DarkLord - Well yes, that would have been the easiest.... However, I could not find a description of how to do this ...

Re: program EPROM’s of TOS 1.04US for a STacy?

Not necessarily. Look at the pinout of the Stacy socket (in the schematics), look at the pinout of your EPROMs (in the datasheet), figure out which connections you have to rewire. Maybe you really just have to put a single wire in place for A16. Hi Y'all, I need help reading...again. I am planning ...

Re: CosmosEX (SCSI) in MegaSTE

Hi watzi-berg, I'm definitely not an expert on par with our fellow Atarians on this site. That being said, If I remember correctly there probably will be a number of limitations when using the internal ACSI to SCSI adapter. 1) limited to SCSI ID 0 2) limited to 1 GB 3) limited to non-parity ( I don'...

Re: program EPROM’s of TOS 1.04US for a STacy?

I had a look at my Stacy. Atari used non-JEDEC layout EPROMs  These are Toshiba TC571001. They differ to JEDEC compliant EPROMs in pins 2 and 24 (A16 and /OE). These two pins need to be swapped. Datasheet is here: http://www.ezoflash.com/datasheets/eprom/Toshiba/TC571000D_TC571001D.pdf Please...

Thank you.

So some of the universal PSU do not have mechanical switches for voltage selection. Can I trust the automatic switch or do you recommend user selected or single voltage?

Is there a safe range of volts and amps?

Modern, Smaller form factor STacy power supply?

Hi All, I would like to find a replacement power supply for my STacy. I'd like it to be smaller than the original Atari PSU(16.5v , 2.5 amp.) I see several "universal laptop" with several tip adapters for sale on the web. If I correct the tip polarity, what should I look for to ensure comp...

Just recently I read that they really did order new boards. It was a Taiwan company, called EFA (you can like them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/EFA-Manufacturing-Corporation-taiwan/111224805562164 :D), same company which had manufactured Lynx and Falcons for Atari. program EPROM’s of TOS 1.04US for a STacy?

How do you program EPROM’s of TOS 1.04US for a STacy? I have tried and failed five times to program TOS 1.04 US - EPROM’s (M27C1001-10F1 - new) for my STacy. I’m thinking it is my inexperience leading to failure. The STacy displays a white screen and then accesses the floppy only to reboot and repea...

PageStream 2.2 was one of my favorite Apps for the STacy. I even purchased a later version for Mac OS. Sadly on MacOS the clean and efficient program was now obtuse and no longer intuitive. I lost interest quickly.
