Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Nevermind, the image works fine, I just didn't wait long enough Ha! Same happened to me, but I then remembered that even the original ST is seeking for a floppy disk for some time before booting from hdd (you can hear that by some noises from ST's floppy - which is missing in on fpga). You can spee...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

I tried to mount a 256 MB HD file, but had no luck, the ST hangs on boot after detecting Device 0. Currently there seem no way to unmount an image, as far as I see the only way to unmount it is to reload the core. I can access hdd images when they're ready to run - I've copyied mine from my MiST an...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

I still get no sound with this core .. every other core seems to work fine. 128mb sdram, hdmi video & analog audio connection. Totally understand you can't fix something you can't duplicate .. but not sure what information I could give to help Check if you can get sound by HDMI. I've tested a h...

Re: It's no more a MiSTery

The demo surely does something to syncs (if anyone interested, debug it), and that's reflected in the MiST output, too. I'm very sure that it is doing something strange at the end of the demo (scrolling credits). The demo itself runs very fine and stable. When you take a closer look to the scrollin...

Re: It's no more a MiSTery

But it's not fair to compare the original 15kHz and the scandoubled VGA output. Same display, same input port is the only fair comparison. I can't speak for how RealLarry is running the MiST, but I certainly saw more black frames on my 15khz display on the MiST than on his video of the real ST. Not...

Re: It's no more a MiSTery

Did a complete test with Systematic Error and my MiST v1.3/VGA (STE, 4MB, TOS 1.62), Hatari (same setup) and an Atari STE/CVBS/PAL/TOS 2.06. Speaking of the scroller/credits of the end of this demo, there are many black frames insterted with the MiST, only a few with Hatari and the STE. That said, H...

Re: It's no more a MiSTery

Is this the vertical scroller at the end? Very occasionally, the screen flashes black for a frame or so, too. Don't know if that's the behaviour on original hardware or not. It must be the scroller at the end of the demo. Same behaviour here at normal VGA. Have to activate my STE which is in my lab...

Can't get this version (commit 1c194a0) to work, getting a black screen only. OSD works, but that's all.

Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

Nice script, @jayp76, many thanks for your effort. Script runs but fails for every subset, as none of the expected subdir exists..had to create them by hand. You could replace line #41 to #44 in every sub-script by this one-liner: [[ -d /media/fat/games/Atari2600 ]] && cd /media/fat/games/At...

Ah, I see...thought that's a effect or glitch from the demo itself :) Yes, the bottom half of the scroller is flickering every few frames on the real STe.

Re: It's no more a MiSTery

Btw, it would be really interesting to compare it with a real STe. Hopefully there's someone following this thread who can quickly verify. I don't have easy access to my STe at the moment. Just checked this out before breakfast. It "just works" on my STe, TOS1.62. The distortion of the sc...

(Quick edit: I don't see any recent commits to your repo, so am I correct in assuming you've not pushed these changes yet?) Not yet, there are some other surprises waiting. I'm afraid I'm too far away for some beer from Texas - but would be good, thanks :) FYI, another one is waiting for you in Fra...

Is it possible to use a USB soundcard or -bar? no Thanks, but just to satisfy my curiosity: Why not? Missing kernel modules which would fill up space/memory unnecessarily? Well, I continue to use this setup with extra audio cable then. This is working fine and gives me a nice sound for my MiSTer-in...

Re: USB Hub board

Is it possible to use a USB soundcard or -bar? I'm using a Dell USB soundbar on MiSTer's USB hub board, but it's working there only if I'm using the USB cable plus 3.5mm stereo jack. The Dell soundbar is capable acting as a USB only soundcard as I'm having more than one of the same type, which are w...

Just got my first MiSTer complete and working. Awesome system! A fantastic work Sorgelig has done - as many times before MiSTer.
