Re: Cheap VGA->HDMI adapter

Anyone has kept their packing material by any chance? Mine says Item No. 508-78, barcode 5705730508783. Maybe different models have different codes... And yes, I can't seem to find a way to open it, I think the plastic is melt together... The one that I bought and that did not work had the same ite...

Re: Cheap VGA->HDMI adapter

I just received Till's adapter and, unlike like the one I sent to him, it works perfectly with my MiST. I tested it with the Atari ST core, 50Hz and 56Hz, both no problem. No powerdown with connected USB, really great picture over HDMI. So, that apparently means that there are at least two hardware ...

Re: Cheap VGA->HDMI adapter

I sent mine yesterday, as well. Will arrive today, probably.

I'd assume opening and cutting the right wire (the 5v supply going to the vga connector) will fix this.

Yes, I'm from Germany. I will send you a PM.

Re: Cheap VGA->HDMI adapter

The power supply I am using provides 2A; not sure whether this is the problem. But I tried plugging the USB connector into my PC while having the VGA in the MiST: no picture either. I noticed, however, that the USB front connector in my PC also seems to power down when I plug in the adapter... On an...

Re: Cheap VGA->HDMI adapter

I just tested the adapter with my ThinkPad and found out that it works flawlessly; I get a very nice and clean image from the VGA port. The adapter's USB interface is also detected; Windows installs a bunch of audio devices. I did not test audio, however... So, the adapter seems to work correctly, i...

Re: Cheap VGA->HDMI adapter

I just received this adapter from some nice MIST user: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00A6N9F5W Just got the same one today, and couldn't get it to work. When I connect the USB to MiST for power (not for audio, I understand this will not work), MiST turns dark and stops working (not sure what causes this...

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

You are welcome. I did create and maintain all RomVault Dats for the MIST FPGA.I already start to wonder if somebody is using my DATs but it looks like at least one did found my Treasures who lies deep in the MIST Wiki :D Regards Atmosfear A quick "thank you" from me, as well. I just disc...

Re: MiST VGA upscaling experiments

I have now noticed what you mean (somehow looked for something completely different) and I have actually noticed it before with my Amiga 1200 and the XRGB Mini. Nice find with the A/D level. I always wondered what that setting did, since I never noticed anything obvious when I changed it. Will have ...

Re: MiST VGA upscaling experiments

I was hoping to debug whether the "video noise" was from the SCART cable, but now I think it's from the upscaler struggling to handle non-standard formats. Still I think it's plenty decent as you can see in the videos. Here's my longest capture to date, Explora II: https://www.youtube.com...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

Alternatives to a display is to get an upscaler or a capture card that handles the 50hz signal, I use an XRGB-Mini with a VGA2SCART converter (you would need these with real hardware too). I don't have room for a CRT, which might be a cheaper choice. That is a good idea. I have an XRGB Mini anyways...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

Newsdee has packages with ntsc configs for most cores. Thanks for the hint. Can I ask where I can find these NTSC config files? I am aware that there is Newsdee's starter pack, but I had the impression that only the C64 and SMS cores came with such a config file. Would be nice to have those for oth...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

Try copying this file to the root of the SD card: http://newsdee.com/mist/MINIMIG.CFG I've created it from a blank config switching the core to AGA on NTSC. Thanks Newsdee, that worked! Much obliged. I wonder if it would be sensible to add config files switching to 60 Hz to the various cores that s...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

Hi, I'm new to the forum and wanted to say that I really enjoy the MiST, great project. Is there a way to force the MiST to NTSC, i.e. 60 Hz, output? I would like to try the latest Amiga AGA core and it seems to boot with a PAL setting, 50 Hz. I am not sure though, since my monitor apparently is not...
