I have one of these cards as well. I will have to dust it off and take a look at it over summer.

Re: OSSC w/ ST and UBE VGA settings?

BTW, what firmware revision do you have on your OSSC? I upgraded mine to 0.81 about a month ago, but I noticed 0.82 was released recently.

Re: OSSC w/ ST and UBE VGA settings?

For what it's worth Steve, I'm just using the default settings with mine. Line 4x and 5x modes give the sharpest results (as I've mentioned elsewhere, are on par with the Falcon's VGA output, IMO). I'm going through a SCART connection, however. 2018-12-03 12.59.36-large.jpg I have an ST2VGA which I ...

Re: Very Sick MSTE - Need some help to bring back to life if posible

I would suggest replacing the cracked capacitor and replacing ROMs in both machines with TOS 2.06. The 4 bombs will occur after the memory check and reverse progress bar. Even with a hard drive installed (which is optional ), the Mega STE will still check for the presence of a FDD. I can confirm TOS...

Re: Using an X-Arcade Tankstick with the Mist?

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping for an off-the-shelf hardware adapter or Mist keystroke-to-joypad mapping (restricted by vendor) solution remapping the codes below would be possible. I think the X-Arcade crew might have a hardware solution - I'm currently looking into it.

Using an X-Arcade Tankstick with the Mist?

Has anyone had any luck using an X-Arcade Tankstick with their Mist? It connects via USB but is seen as a USB or PS/2 keyboard rather than a joystick. I’ve used the USB test feature in one of the cores to get the PID/VID values and the codes for each of the buttons. An entry in mist.ini only seemed ...

Sack AT-Speed 286 emulator - hardware installation guide?

I purchased a Mega ST 4 that came with a bonus Sack AT-Speed 286 emulator. The Mega ST also had a HD FDD and Overscan modification done to it so there was a lot of internal wiring. The computer wouldn't boot until I removed the AT Speed from the Mega ST Bus adapter. As it turns out the AT Speed boar...

Software for the Magic Sac Plus mac emulator (does anyone have any software in Magic Sac disk image format?)

I picked up a Magic Sac Plus emulator some months back and am wanting to get it up and running on my Mega ST 4. To get the Mac software to the ST (due to the incompatible disk drive/formats) requires one of the following: 1. Connecting a Mac and ST via a serial link; running the included transfer pr...

Re: Lightning VME is here

It would be great if it was technically possible to use this with a USB>VGA adapter such as this one:

Cheap and convenient, it technically possible, I would pay for some drivers to be written.

Re: no MegaSTE ram expansion over 4MB ?

I’m lucky enough to own 3 MonSTer boards, installed in a 1040STE, Mega 4 ST and a Mega STE. Given the number of features of the board, they proved to be good value where buying the individual upgrades would have cost a lot more. Installing in the Mega STE initially was straight forward. I ran it for...

Is the Falcon design more conducive to supporting accelerators and video upgrades, compared to it's older siblings?
Would (turn on "dream mode" now) something like the Vampire be compatible it?

I noticed that the FPU is recognised differently in my Falcon and TT, compared to the FPU in my Mega STE in GemBench (from memory, it doesn't "I/O Mapped FPU").

I purchased one of these DS3231 RTC modules, and found this forum post while looking for the Y2K solution.

It's early days (I only received the RTC today and installed it in my STE's Monster board) but so far so good.

Re: New board: MonSTer

I was able to use the header pins in the internal DMA port since I didn't have a SCSI controller. Are you able to remove the controller, connect to the header with a parrot clip that lies parallel to the board and replaced the controller? I did a similar thing in a Mega ST with a monster board and a...

Protar Profile/30 hard drive: upgrading the hard drive with a 1GB limited controller

While I know there are plenty of good external mass storage solutions for the ST, I have an old Protar Profile/30 external hard drive that I would like to upgrade to a larger capacity (from the 30MB hard drive it came with). Here are some facts/limits with the hardware: - internally, it's a SCSI dri...
