Re: Another Project: Stacy4

No, that unfortunately that did not work either.... maybe the Jaz drive is faulty. Bit of a silly question, but, it is ''Eingang'' port that I am meant to be using? Been so long since I have plugged this in. Also, do you know if the Protar interface supplies parity? I have a RazinMonster CF reader, ...

Re: Another Project: Stacy4

Yes, it does not see anything when set to scan. The internal Jaz drives are with a fixed ID, but, I will try setting the Protar to another number. Thank you.

Re: Another Project: Stacy4

Apologies for reviving this old thread, but I have the same old Protar enclosure which the original Syquest drive died some years ago. I tried hooking up an internal Jaz drive to it, it powers up but, when I boot from the STe, HDDriver does not see anything on the bus. I have the SCSI set to '0'' an...

Re: Unknown MIDI Port.

Hi again, just a little update. I got this port to work with the Export driver, I had tried this before with no success, but on installing another version all worked well. Sending MIDI clock out from this port to a PC based sequencer produces solid sync with only the slightest of deviation of time. ...

Re: Progate - R 44 for Spares or help me repair.

... or on another track. Would any one know where I could get the drive repaired in the UK? I can see that one of the heads have misaligned, making small adjustments has made no difference... I would really like to get the files off of the cartridges. Any suggestion what SCSI device I could replace ...

Just reviving this thread to ask exactly how parity would be achieved using interfaces like these.

Re: Unknown MIDI Port.

Thank you very much for that. The schematic in that file shows exactly what I have. I have replaced the MROS folder on my Cubase disk with the updated version and left only MROS 3-45 and Export .DRV in there, and on starting Cubase the MROS is detected. I have set the MIDI definitions within Cubase ...

Re: Unknown MIDI Port.

Thank you for your replies. Just to confirm, this did work from running Notator. Sending the MIDI signal to the MIDI in on my PC and viewing the data in MIDI OX, showed what was to be expected... including a ''Stop'' event when the Atari was rebooted. Now to find a driver to be able to run it in Cub...

Re: Unknown MIDI Port.

I honestly can not be sure. It was sold to me as such, although I do not remember ever using it.... it was over twenty years ago. I will try it with Notator and the Export driver tomorrow . I am still in contact with Chris, the guy who sold it to me, and if it is a dud, I will demand my money back. ...

Re: Unknown MIDI Port.

I just read this thread - viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14614.

I think that I will have to try a copy of Notator and see if that gets it working.

Re: Unknown MIDI Port.

Thank you for the reply simbo2 I can not find any.drv file.. just the MROS that is running in the Cubase. MROS is giving me the usual Unitor, Midex option to select... I have to try find one of those Midex, I see one on the bay of evil a little while back for a good price... but, I bought a signed p...

I couldn't resist opening it up and having a look inside.
Just three of the pins are wired to the modem.

I wonder if it was ''home made''.

Unknown MIDI Port.

Hi. I was rummaging around in my attic and found a MIDI adapter which plugs in to the modem port on the STE. I do not remember where I got this or even if I ever used it.... let alone if it had drivers. It has no markings on it to identify. I have plugged it in but it seems to be sending no signal o...

Progate - R 44 for Spares or Repair.

Hi. Any one interested in my Protar 44MB cartridge drive? The cartridge drive (Syquest SQ555) has one damaged Read/Write head, possibly easily repaired... but, the SCSI to ACSI interface inside the casing may be of more use to some one. It all works fine with no problem, you will need a standard 50 ...

Hi.

Do any one know if there is another supplier of the extension cables other than Cables Online?

I live in the UK and it will take two to three weeks to arrive... no lid on the STE at present and I do not want to be doing this :coffe: and then this happens 8O and I will be all

Re: ste monitor issues

I would like to add to this thread.

Can anyone recommend an STe to VGA connector for use with a VGA equipped LCD TV - running in Hi Res mode?
I have seen a few offerings on eBay and not sure of their quality... any advice would be greatly appreciated.
