nah, they've always been pushing this LGBT stuff and it's sad because we all know it's just a means for them to try and gain more exposure for whatever silly reason...

Re: Ataribox

I agree. Size wise it probably couldn't pull off being a mini ITX case with a discrete GPU card option side by side without making it too long, or above it without making it too thick. I've tried to convince them for 10-years to do a mini itx based gaming PC for the masses and this is the result? U...

Re: ataribook.com defective?

Hard telling when it'll get published really. Marty seems to be living out the metal band dream and Curt has just had unfortunate health issues and is stressed with completing the 7800 expansion module before bothering with the book, from what I've read. With that said, would be surprised to see it ...

1040STe and SC1435....

Not sure where this topic belongs but curious for those who were around in the release time of the STe, was the SC1435 your dream monitor or did you prefer one of the older ones?

Re: Call for (not so technical) questions -- Atari's product manager 1991-96

I would like to know more about the JagDuo and just how far along that got and if there were any actual working units outside of the foam mockups. Also, if he got to work much with Ira Valenski and if he can confirm who actually created the JagDuo casing/housing.

Thanks! =D

Re: Which direction retro computing goes ?

I think it only makes sense to go into the direction of flashback-styled recreations over actual hardware. I'm a purist and want nothing more than the original but at the same time, will openly entertain projects that try to recreate the architecture in its entirety that will act exactly as original...

Re: Possible collab for 2D platformer on Falcon or Jaguar...(artwork here)

Here's a short video example running on Virtual Jag - had to limit the size down from 320x200 to 192x120 due to some weird Rb+ bug, but you kind of get the idea: https://youtu.be/ldeC6s_mH5o Here's a pano of the warehouse/room: sidescroll.jpg Full 320x240 res demo: https://youtu.be/caUBTpzYSPg Some ...

Possible collab for 2D platformer on Falcon or Jaguar...(artwork here)

I've never been very good on the programming side of things but I have a very fast computer and can render the literal daylights out of some scenes. 14MB on the Falcon seems like plenty enough space to get things loaded into some animation frame-like scenes for 3D movement but I'm unsure how quickly...

Re: Where do people dissapear to?

A lot of the behind the scene negatives not seen or known by the general public may have a lot to do with it. Especially after hearing the horror stories developers had dealt with the likes of Atari from general hasty responses to not being paid in regards to the Jaguar, it's a sore subject for many...

Re: It's only taken my entire life, but one way or another...

Well, I feel like my STe/Falcon/C-Lab dream is dead. At least in the sense that it's no longer of any real urgency and probably makes really zero sense at this point both financially and from a usability standpoint - though I'm still interested in possibly picking one up for the experience itself. N...

Re: - Best Electronics Does Not Sell Atari Parts? -

From where Brad (Best) and B&C get all this stuff? Is it a stockpile from old days (90s) or they found some new, untaped, stock recently? The B&C guy told me that he bought stuff from Atari when they closed, he told me he took the TT030s right off of the employees desks. Sorry I don't remem...

Re: Do you know someone who owns a Sparrow / FX-1?

I know Curt sold one off in early 2000s on eBay and I want to say it went for rather cheap, I was just tied up financially in a ton of Jaguar protos at the time to be overly worried about the Sparrow, though it would have been nice to own.

While it's been talked about elsewhere and just my 2-cents in.... it still would have been greatly fascinating had they actually implemented the Jaguar chipset with the Falcon together as planned and we would've had an amazingly capable system.

YES, do see From Bedrooms To Billion and The Amiga Years, they are both exceptional! True Stories: This is Dan here for LemonAmiga.com. I was also distracted by this false claim that I recently made a documentary series to prove this wasnt the case. Its called Amiga Quantum Leap, and is basically A...

http://classic.technology/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/ataristbook.pdf Just improve it in a photo editor and get it reprinted maybe. Well, if the value question is about the STbook, that would be around 1000-1500 gbp nowadays. Dal recently sold his for £1570 if I remember correctly. There were nice e...
