Re: Alternative ZIP packers/depackers for Atari?

Sunnyboy you're right, sorry I wasn't clear. The problem was with unpacking EasyMiNT from plain TOS for installation. Maybe the files are just too large for STZip. In the archive all files are 8+3 so long filenames "shouldn't" be the problem.

Re: Alternative ZIP packers/depackers for Atari?

MigyMog ? really ?? tha's awesome ! any link on how to do that ? I installed EasyMint recently and i had the same issues with being unable to use STZIP. I tried STPZIP, the zipjr,.tos zip tool from KGMD (which appears to be the same) and some unzip tool I found on a FTP. All bombed. Ultimately I had...

Re: tRANSFERRING mIDI FILES FROM DESK TOP TO aTARI STE1040

Is it just something with the midifiles or would other file types transfer ok ? I have a Iomega external floppy drive connectedb USB, I use the generic NEC driver for it (which I have to select manually) and it works fine with current Windows 10. I don't use Notator but Sweet 16 (very nice and now f...

Re: Mark Williams C

Thank you Thorsten ! I like Brainstorm's Assemble a lot better than PASM, it has many more options (warning, optimisations etc.) and its error messages are a lot more helpful. And for the pointer about your tool to run PRJ too ! I was just writting one as an exercise with Mark Williams now I have to...

Re: Mark Williams C

I've been playing with Mark Williams C and although it's dated, I don't think it's bad at all. The documentation is quite nicely done and helpful. Its shell is small, nice and enough , it compiles fast enough even on a simple ST, it has a nice collection of utilities provided with it to manage libra...

Re: Falcon floppy drive connector broken

Hi, thank you all for the advice, I have no special skill in soldering so I will ask the local electronician to do it. He managed to find a bad solder in the ROM chip socket and is currently fixing an Amiga 600 I was given :) I wanted to give it to him anyway to install a FPU and connect whatever is...

Falcon floppy drive connector broken

Dear Atarists, I wanted to replace the floppy drive cable on my Falcon I pulled, it didn't come out, I pulled harder.... and it broke :(, I mean the plastic piece that straps the flat cable on the connector. To the flat cable is now removed and "vampire" pins are standing out. I tried remo...

Hello The site seems to be still down. I'd like to have the installation doc of the CENTurbo 1e3b uploaded in case it helps anyone (somebody asked a question about that accelerator board recently). At the moment it's on my private cloud for 10 days at this link: http://ovh.to/B8CjauQ Somebody can re...

Re: replace a system routine (midi)midi buffer

Hi Charles ! WIth great pleasure ! I will update my skype profile then will be connected tomorrow ! About the non-blocking Bconout: you can only write one byte at a time in the data register of the ACIA, it will not queue them and you'd loose the previously written value. So you have to wait that th...

Re: replace a system routine (midi)midi buffer

Hello Charles I am hacking in the same area because I am adding the possibility to have non-blocking Bconout(3) (send content of MIDI IOrect using interrupts) The IOREC structure defines the ibuflen as a 16 bit, so the IOREC that the TOS manages can only handle 65535 bytes of buffer. You have to hoo...

Re: Aranym for Beginnner's

Thanks you all for your help ! I updated to FreeMiNT 1.18 / XAAES 1.5.5 with no problem. Thank you for the pointer to Clicky, I got it to work almost completely and I could create a layout for my DELL E5578 laptop. The Alt keys are required on a French keyboard for characters like ~, #,{, [, |, `, \...
