Re: NEW OR UPDATED ARCADE CORES

Tested Burger Time (OK) and Berzerk (the issue persists) @Gehstock: thanks for the Burger Time update, the colours look great now! But I can confirm that the Berzerk 15KHz picture problem is still there, the game display is too big to entirely fit on the screen. VGA is perfect however. The entire B...

New Core Dottori Kun on my Github The MAME history.dat file has some trivia on this machine: This is a game that Sega used to test the hardware, it was developing during the late 1980s through the early 1990s. It's a very small board (about 10cm x 10cm). It was never fully developed or intended to ...

Re: BBC Micro

Try to issue *DCAT, if the core recognizes the BEEB.MMB, then it should list its contents. Then at the F12 menu, choose Auto Boot "ON", reset the core, it'll present a menu with apps without learning the command line stuff. Just found out that MMFS supports "RAW" SD-Cards, witho...

Re: NEW OR UPDATED ARCADE CORES

Sound in all four Ladybug-hardware cores works great now, thanks Gehstock! I have noticed that the screen of these four cores is a little darker than of the other cores - it's not a big problem, but maybe you can check some day if this could easily be fixed. I did some testing with the current arcad...

Re: Atari 7800 on MIST

Gehstock has made a new attempt to implement the Atari 7800 on the MIST. He asked me to test it, but unfortunately I am currently 1000 kms away from my MIST.
You can find the new test release (VGA only) on Gehstock's repository, please try it out and report how it works.

A quick VGA-only test: Sharp MZ-80A and MZ-80K: Screen looks good. The keyboard reacts to a few keys, but not as it should (it results in different characters on the screen than those you pressed). 2018-07-10_MIST_SharpMZ-80A.jpg 2018-07-10_MIST_SharpMZ-80K.jpg Robotron KC 87 (Z 9001): interestingly...

As I have mentioned above, 15 kHz is not supported yet, so it needs to be tested on VGA.

Did you find any other bugs or missing features apart from those I listed above?

Re: Some interesting vintage computer's FPGA reimplementation

The Orao core looks promising. I don't know what the difference between the two .rbf files is, so I tried both: orao_MiST.rbf seems to produce a VGA signal, but I got only a black sceen with it. But orao_MiST_v2.rbf generates a 15 Khz signal and seems to be working. 2018-04-19_MIST_Orao_800px.jpg Ma...

Apple I core

I just noticed on Gehstock's GitHub repository that he has brought a first version of an Apple I core to the MIST.

I don't quite know how to use the Apple I, but at first sight it does what is expected.

@Gehstock: thanks once more for keeping the MIST project alive.

Re: 15 kHz Scart RGB

Pin 8 on newer TVs is for selecting 4:3 mode (12V = 4:3; 0V = 16:9). I think you meant Pin 16 (RGB Select). But MIST should already be activating this pin correctly, otherwise it wouldn't work on any RGB-capable SCART TV. As DrChaos mentioned already, your old Philips TV might not be capable of RGB....

All his arcade cores seem to be there...

The last arcade core I downloaded was the Phoenix core dated 2017-02-09 15:33. The current Phoenix core is binary different and 1KB bigger. Maybe he made a complete rebuild.

@kortina: you probably mean the AGA core, as the Minimig Amiga core is not yet 15 Khz-capable AFAIK.
