Re: ROBOCOP 2. Amiga or ST?

As a huge Robocop (Film and Coin-Op) fan, i found the Home games a very mixed bag. The Original Robocop was superb on a 128K ZX Spectrum, C64 version looked nice, but bugged, not found a console version i like. With Robocop II...the coin-op i found to be awful. The Amstrad GX4000 and Amiga versions ...

Re: Chuck Rock 2 - what happened to it?

So, i purchased a back issue of RetroGamer Magazine, issue 173...Chuck Rock feature. Full credit to Nick Thorpe for asking Bob Churchill about the ST version of Chuck Rock II previewed by ST Review magazine. Bob states it was probably NEVER in production in the 1st place, resources being better spent...

Re: Chuck Rock 2 - what happened to it?

Thread bump: Did have 1 last crack at trying to find something out on this, another Ex-Core Design source approached (won't say whom, as my resident, ahem, 'online-follower' would only try and reach him or indeed her :) ) and try and get 1 over... Asked for info on this, plus claims made in UK magaz...

Re: Gauntlet II vs Ranarama (ST) - Which Is Best?

Ranarama was a superb port from the 8 bit systems and indeed one of the better Gauntlet clones out there..i loved it on C64 and later ST.

But Gauntlet II was the better game and the ST version, whilst far from perfect, i personally got far more out of...

So Gauntlet II FTW.

Re: Never Ported respectively released for ST

If you think the uk press was bad.. a greek magazine did a full page review of disposable hero on the st. They even commented on the quality of the samples and said the amiga version was very similar. So i add disposable hero on the list and i am looking for any copy. Wowza.. Looks like UK Press wa...

Re: Sotb better on Amstrad CPC + than on ST

It shouldn't really matter that this is an Atari Forum. Shadow Of The Beast was written as a technical showcase for the Amiga hardware and even it's creators themselves openly admit there wasn't much of a game in there. Converting it to the ST was always going to result in comprises being made, just...

Re: Never Ported respectively released for ST

You think they might have it in a backup? I'm interested but not trawling through millions of pages to find something which may or may not exist. Especially as there was an unreleased overhead tank game which used rotating playfields called Rotator by Rainbow Arts written by reLINE http://hol.abime...

Re: Never Ported respectively released for ST

I'm no doubting anything on technical side of Indy 4, but by time it was annouced, KEY UK publishers/software houses etc were reporting the rapid decline in ST copies of their games compared to the Amiga. People:like:Audiogenic, Virgin, Bitmap Bros, David Braben, Reflections etc etc. The ST market w...

Re: Atari Panther schematics discovered - Never released machine

The information on that Wikipedia page is so far from correct, i honestly do not know where to start.. I've spent a lot of time looking into the Panther, following Press reports from rumoured ST Console/ST+/Project robin, up to point of actual Panther Project. Not so much from Hardware point of view...

Re: Never Ported respectively released for ST

Sadly going off UK Press claims once again, but a few more: Mindscape had said it wasn't technically possible to do Wing Commander on the ST, due to lack of colours and no hardware support to move sprites etc around, it wasn't even worth trying. Mike singleton was supposed to of been working on a po...

Re: Blog: The Year that ‘Starglider’ and the Atari ST Saved Halloween

Meant to return to this topic weeks ago. 1 thing that always 'narked' me with ST Starglider..after all the talk from Jez San about how difficult it was fitting game into 512K, game being delayed etc... To see the 128K ZX Spectrum get a 'superior' version (Digitised speech in-game, better sound FX, g...
