Re: SNES core not starting

I am trying to get SNES working on my Mist. Other cores work, only this does not. I can confirm, it doesn't work for me either. 20191709 works fine. I am on the latest firmware ATH200215 (romfix patched version). My guess is that you mean 20190719? That one has the same behaviour for me. Boots the ...

Re: SNES core not starting

I am trying to get SNES working on my Mist. Other cores work, only this does not. I have: updated the firmware to 200215 used SNES_20191014.rbf (and some older that act the same) When I start the core the red light flashes longer than usual and after a while it boots back to the core selection scre...

Re: PC Engine core

The PC Engine core was updated:

TurboGrafx-16:
- Use SDRAM instead of DDR3 if present.

Just curious, are there advantages in using SDRAM over DDR3?

Re: NeoGeo topic

Just wondering if anyone has updated lately and had constant issues with the NeoGeo core ? On power up of the core, I get constant Hardware Failure messages from BIOS.. if I force AES to continue the games start but not soon after I get an Illegal Message Error and the game crashes. Tried rebooting...

Oh nice, this means trackball support is already in range.

Re: Arcade cores

Many arcades got spinner support, but it's USB spinner. I plan to add open source firmware for arduino micro to make USB adapters for spinners and paddles. With some tweaks of firmware it will be possible to adjust the sensitivity. I'm using MadCatz Arcade Stick for XBox 360 (USB). It also has low ...

Correct ROM size should be power of 2.
So after patching add padding to 512KB and it will work.

Many thanks, I expanded the Rom to 512KB and this did the trick. Many thanks for the help!

Re: PC Engine core

Did anybody manage to get the translated version of Out Live to work? The japanese Rom runs fine, but whenever I try the patched rom it crashes when starting a game. Did you try it on a real system or even an emulator ? It's probably an incorrect patching job; on a translation patch, it would be ve...

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

Just curious, as I am not at my MiST at the moment, isn't the specific Rom loaded, whenever a specific machine is selected? What would be the benefits of selecting a Rom manually?

EDIT: Nevermind, I now realise, that it is about the custom Roms in the list.

Re: Mister Safeshutdown possible?

There is no need for a safe shutdown, Sorgelig explained this elsewhere: It's not like raspberry pi. MiSTer normally loads with system mounted as read-only. Some computer cores open their hard file in read-write - this is the only file opened in write mode. Usually if this computer core doesn't writ...

Re: Newbie questions

I agree, I think 600 mA is not enough to power the DE10. If you have a SD Ram board attached, try to remove it and see if the DE10 starts without it, remove anything you connected to the USB port.

Re: I am making a retro 8bit inspired case for my MiSTer what do you think ?

This looks great, I thought about the possibility to built something using the official Raspberry Pi keyboard. My ideas went into a similar direction, but I don't have a 3D printer and I am not good at building physical stuff in general. Yours looks even better then the one I imagined, because the k...

Re: 128mb ram board not working in mister

My board from Antonio came today. As of a minute ago, the memory counter was over 120 (which is actually up near 300 because memtest uses hex) at 130 MHz. Mem size shows 3. I think we're good. :) It couldn't do anything at all higher than 140 MHz. Then it passed around 30 attempts at 140 MHz and th...

Re: Newbie questions

How is this enabled? Briefly I considered using a Blisster but I don't want to use something that is not officially supported, and that is closed source, and requires its own branch cores. If this option works well it makes it unnecessary, especially since many people already own cheap USB adapters...
