Hard Drive Options (Vanilla) for ST?

Hi there, so I managed to get my hands on a mint Atari STE 1040 from the internet. I'm considering getting a Hard Drive for it, to use programs like Atari Works on it. (Which require HD installation) What are the original options (that came with the ST back in day?) if I don't want to use an SD card...

Re: Fun School

I have the actual disks FS4 Under 5s (Disk, Box, Original Docs) FS4 5 to 7s - Box, Docs but no disk. FS4 7 to 11s (Disk, Box, Original Docs) I don't have 5 to 7s but I have the box and documentation. I remember there being a menu disk or compilation someplace that had an image with the game on it. I...

Re: Fun School

Do you have a link to said patcher? I couldn't seem to find it on you're site.
I'm also using an emulator at the moment, not an actual system.
I don't really know anything about STOS, I've heard it mentioned, but thats about it.

Re: Fun School

Not sure if its my emulator or if its cause I'm using UK Tos, but having trouble with both the FS4U5 and the FS45-7 rom images. Both won't boot. The 7-11 boots but there is no mouse functionality at all. Again, not sure if this is a TOS problem or an emulator problem. When switching to a newer versi...

Re: Fun School

Wish i'd seen this post earlier, managed to snag a boxed version of Fun School 4 : 7 to 11 on ebay for the ST. Also a sealed copy of Fun School 4: Under 5s (no box) Bought the Amiga boxes for FS4: Under 5s and 5 to 7s so when I get a hold of the original disks, or copy them to an ST disk for playbac...

Re: Most catchy st tune ever

I would have to say probably Lotus 2 for me. The drum effects alone are bad ass imo.

Re: Windows Midi > ST Playback?

So... I'm looking for some kind of Tracker on Windows, to play MIDI files using the Emulated ST Audio? For example if I downloaded the theme from Top Gun in Midi Format, I'd want something so I could play it in an Atari ST style as if it were being played by the system. Or something that would take ...

Re: Ym2149 Tracker for Win. New Version 04-11-2012

I don't suppose you would take paid requests for composing tunes and uploading them to youtube would you?
I haven't a clue how to use trackers, but I love the idea of this <3

Sorry for asking but does it have the capability to open MID files and play them?

Re: Windows Midi > ST Playback?

Bump

[Edit]
solution found: I am going to use Music Studio to write the music and play it back through the ST sound chip as it has this feature built in.
It will take longer but I think its probably the best one out there for now.

Re: Looking for a ST game title

That was really helpful but unfortunetly the game I was looking for isn't in the list. I searched each game for screenshots and youtube videos and none of them match, sadly. I was unaware that there was a genre dedicated to this type of game, I thought it just fell under the "arcade" genre...

Looking for a ST game title

Been looking for a game I used to play on my ST but can't remember the name. It's a side scrolling arcade game where you have to shoot the aliens before they go down onto the base below and lay eggs. They make a whistle noise before they move downwards. I really enjoyed playing this game but can't f...

Re: Windows Midi > ST Playback?

What I'm really looking for is a program for PC or Atari ST that plays midi files in the style of the Atari ST Chiptune. For example, to see what "Skyrim" would sound like if it were published for ST back in the day. There are some chiptune remakes on youtube of several different songs, bu...

Re: Windows Midi > ST Playback?

Thanks for the quick reply, and for your help :)

I downloaded YmVST but inside the downloaded archive is a .DLL file but no executable.
I tried renaming the file from YmVST.dll to YmVST.exe but this didn't work either.

(is not a valid win32 file)

Do I need an additional program to use with it?

Windows Midi > ST Playback?

Hi, I've been wracking my brains trying to play my favourite midi tracks on my Atari ST to see what they would sound like using the chiptune of the Atari ST. Copying MID files over to the ST doesn't seem to work even running CUBASE. I was wondering if there is any way to convert a windows Midi to a ...
