Re: Gfa-Basic Library

There are no BIOS/XBIOS/GEMDOS libraries, because there is no need for such a library. Same with AES, though GFA FlyDials and faceVALUE make programming GEM apps much more easier.

Just tried it out with Hatari Falcon emulation/14 MB ST/64 MB TT ram. The TAP dumps of Jet Set Willy and Skool Daze didn't work (black screen), while the SNA of a text adventure did start up but didn't recognise any keys. It's not using the original Spectrum font, I assume? Manic Miner (https://www...

If you have contact with Jim, can you also ask him about Munch? It was a snake-like game released via German magazine ST-Magazin. The cover disk hasn't been located yet and afaik it wasn't released elsewhere.

Your best bet would be contacting Curt Vendel of atarimuseum.com. He's probably also the only one who could dump that TOS version.

Re: SMSPlus for the Atari falcon

I haven't tested your port, but I ported SMS+ myself about a decade ago, and it does 50FPS on the CT60 (25MHz bus) using 5bpp C2P. It think it drops to 25FPS in TC. I remember playing SMS Shinobi on your port! I do like these SDL port - of course they require a powerful Atari or an emulator, but it...

It is look like that now, when Ulf Dunkel decide to close Calamus and iCalamus further development, that Andreas decide (or both, together with Ulf) to publish MagiC and AtariX source code :) Andreas did send AtariX to anyone who asked though and ASH is still selling MagiC Mac X. He even plans to o...

Thank you for your work:-) Here's the list of programs, seems like older versions , but, all are or freeware or abandoned, so I can't see any problem to post it here:-) They all sound familiar. Just search for them in the UTD and you'll see a list of public domain disks and CDs which include these ...

Some programs won't run without 68kemu, like Artis 4.0. Hatari/Atari is a straight port with no optimizations. AFAIK, it'...

Re: GEM-Write, GEM-Graph, GEM-Paint

Those programs were announced in 1985 but not released to my knowledge. I can't find any reviews for these programs, at least in German magazines. Write and Paint were supposed to be bundled with the ST. Atari did release 1st Word, Doodle and Easydraw though and various public domain paint programs ...

Re: What is the latest Papyrus version?

The information about FireBee version is taken from http://www.atariuptodate.de/en/266/papyrus but now as I'm reading it again, perhaps the "beta" word refers to FireTOS version. ;) If you compare it to other FireBee tested/compatible apps, you will see the "beta" a lot. It refe...

Re: Read about the Atari company history

If C-Lab became Emagic then this makes sense that Apple now own the patents to the Atari Falcon 030. This must be true if C-Lab purchased the rights from Atari for the Falcon. According to history Apple bought everything from Emagic and I have not found yet anywhere that states that it was made und...

Re: We redesign the STE

Yes, DOS word processors were horrible with their keyboard shortcuts. But many companies were highly critical of GUI and thus favored the DOS PC over the ST or Amiga. There were several companies in Germany who not only modified the ST to be more industrial ready, but also made sure to hide GEM and ...

Re: We redesign the STE

An earlier release date and the discontinuation of the ST would've been crucial to get enough market share. I'd ditch the enhanced joystick ports and move the standard two to a more accessible position. One problem I had with my STE was that the "E" part was never visible to me besides the...

It was a CD sold by Softwareservice Seidel in the late 90's that just contained two programs: NeoN 3D and Overlay.
