Re: Atari BASIC games and Atari BASIC books pdf

There is also a faceVALUE/GFA course by Volker Janzen and Holger Herzog: http://www.stcarchiv.de/stc1997.php Unfortunately, those "30 basic games" kind of books were uncommon in the 16 bit era - if such a book exists at all. I only know of one ST book about developing games, "Spiele s...

The saddest part is that AtariX is the only emulator that actually manages to "catch" the mouse pointer without having to press a keyboard shortcut.

Re: MagicMac

No, it's not possible. You'd need the free successor AtariX (https://gitlab.com/AndreasK/AtariX). AtariX is however a 32 bit application, I use it with macOS Mojave which is the last macOS version to support 32 bit apps.

Re: Abacus spreadsheet

How did you heard about Sonderdisks ? Maybe some former employee(s) from Maxon have this Sonderdisks ? They were advertized in every issue of ST-Computer magazine. A full list of the disks (with screenshots) was also included on Maxon's two CDs. Maxon was also responsible for the magazine (Heim Ver...

The Sonderdisks were all commercial software (although some programs had earlier versions released as shareware or freeware). So there's no registration - either you own the disk or not ;)

If it helps someone - Abacus is on Maxon Sonderdisk 111. No need to look for it on CDs, the Sonderdisks have never been archived (besides disk 51, "Ordne HDB").

Re: What Happened To the Atari Hardware

In Germany, Atari dealers would receive stock from other companies and Atari and would sell them until the end of the 90's. This also included software that was no longer in development like K-Spread 4. Selling Falcons and TT was not hard for obvious reasons. The other stuff (Portfolio, 8-bit comput...

Re: TTOS BLUE (TOS version 3.00)

Kind of curious now, since if I recall correctly, the TT was released a few years before the Mega STe, and I think the Mega STe was the first system released with TOS 2.x? So did they actually release TOS 3.x before they released TOS 2.x? This version kind of shows that they did. There was only a g...

AtariUpToDate is the most extensive resource (10000 distinctive apps and growing) for PD/SW Atari software unless it's a demo. It's also one of the oldest ST websites still online (and still maintained). There is a list of top applications: https://www.atariuptodate.de/en/top-apps/ And GEM games (to...

Re: Good bye

One of the programs in question seems to be a remake of a strip poker game which in turn requires one to own the original game since it includes copyrighted data. I don't understand that. Are the ganes in question already including unlicensed data in the first place? Then it would indeed be a littl...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

Very precise observation. Whether we (or Mathias ;)) like it or not, it's about the marketing, hype etc. Even in our small world. ACP/FireBee had its share of hype and (un)realistic expectations around the time of its inception, when many active (and now retired) people promised and/or already work...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

To be honest we need full Atari support. We would like to watch Atari demos, Atari games and use software which touch hardware directly. Who is "we"? Unless you load a full re-implementation of the Atari ST/E including the original TOS, you'll never have "full Atari support". Th...

Re: harleking 3 - Info

Yes, the resolution was fine, but the pdfs were so compressed it took too long to render each page (at least on my tablet). Decompressing is just simply opening each file and using a pdf print driver to print at the scanned resolution. The file sizes are quite large this way, but for reading it is ...

Re: harleking 3 - Info

ASH started advertising in 1986. Later they even hired an ad agency to design their ads. Unlike all other companies however, they advertised in ST-Computer only. These ads stopped when Falkemedia took over ST-Computer. However, we had lots of reviews for ASH software - I still have my review copies ...

I've had some problems with two (three) programs using Hatari 2.2.1/macOS Mojave. I used a disk image version of Spectrum 512 first - the Sync.prg would crash, the main program is not working. Then the version on DHS's website: 60Hz.prg crashes with two bombs, Spectrum 512 is not able to display ima...

I guess Curt wants to finish the XM first (which was publicly tested at last year's ejagfest by the way). I do believe the book is still coming out - no one who has invested so much work wants to leave it unfinished.
