Re: Crown of creation test:

thank you kodak, out of curiosity, do you also have the possibility to test those builds on recent hatari versions? As mentioned above, I did create STX/ST files which work in Hatari. I am using version 2.2.1. I had to enable in the System settings the Falcon DSP to get the game to run from hard di...

Re: Atari meetup in Brisbane, QLD (first in a decade!)

As Mikro has reminded me about this post, I thought it was worth an update that the local Queensland Atari group now totals 11 members (including Mikro, as a founder member). We are meeting regularly to share knowledge and spending time on these old birds. :D Thanks to Mikro for getting this all sta...

Re: Crown of creation test:

I have written the SCP dumps I provided a link to (http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=28256&p=371766#p371449) back to floppy disks and have successfully installed the 3 install disks to my Falcon hard disk and the game loads fine. Not having played the game before I now need to read...

Re: Crown of creation test:

Disk 3 in the dump does have some sort of protection but when I copied the contents onto a blank .ST disk image, the installation process completed fine with the non-protected disk 3 so the protection is not used to install. Using the converted STX for disk 1 and 2 and the ST for disk 3, I sucessful...

Re: Crown of creation test:

Kodak, did you create kryoflux images out of CoC? if so, Out of curiosity, did you dump the protected tracks in DD mode? I've been told it's necessary so the disk can be recognized as original, but my understanding of this is partial at best. These are not my SCP dumps and I do not have the origina...

Maybe you could post it as attachment here? The link is dead again. DrCoolZic had SCP dumps on his Mega share but not sure if these are the same as previously discussed. Re: List of non proper games dumped

Sorry, forgot to ask. Not just PAL ROMS, but PAL computers , right? I'm asking because there is a slight difference in the CPU frequency between PAL and NTSC computers. That's unrelated to the TOS you are using. The difference is very small and probably is not affecting here. But would like to be s...

Re: List of non proper games dumped

The disk is "good" in the sense that the data is not damaged neither corrupt. It does have a timing issue that might be, again, a mastering or a duplicating problem. Yes, it can easily be fixed and without changing any byte, just changing the timing of a couple of tracks. I'll elaborate l...

Re: List of non proper games dumped

Yes, all TOS versions are UK PAL ROMs.

So, the Warriors II dump is probably good even with track 0 looking bad?

Can the timing issue be fixed?

Re: List of non proper games dumped

Did you test the Warriors II disk on real hardware? Did you get the same behavior? If so, please let me know exactly which TOS version are you using. Sorry to bother you again :) No problem ijor, I have tested the original disk on an STE (4mb RAM) with both TOS 1.62 and 2.06 with the same result 3 ...

The box artwork does not have any dates.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/amiga/676 ... rs-ii/data has a date published for Amiga as 1992.

Re: List of non proper games dumped

Thanks, but no offense, personally I don't like this approach too much. This is not a true dump, it is an hybrid patch (some people call this type of patch a Frankenstein, but that sounds a bit too agressive :) ). Even if it works, we don't know if the donor tracks correspond to the original releas...

Re: List of non proper games dumped

Tetra Quest was released on the Tri-Star Warriors II compilation. Whilst I have this, the disk does not boot and I get bombs when it checks track 62. That said, I have downloaded the STX from Atarimania and this seems to be missing tracks 73 onwards which is where the high score data is read from an...

The image of the cartridge you created shows the rom chips UV erase glass panels not covered. These need to be covered before you program them.

Atari Falcon Eagle add-in module

Hi, One the of the local Brisbane Atari crew (Gazak28) has a Falcon 030 which has an add-in daughter board we have been advised is called an Eagle. Apparently these are quite rare. We are looking for information on what it is and does. I have attached a photo of the top of the module which is connec...

Australia, Syndey: Australian Computer Museum Society needs help with temporary storage

I heard this from a friend who got the information through the local Australian Apple forums. The Australian Computer Museum Society in Sydney has a storage facility which will be demolished soon and they are seeking help from people to temporarily store things. Here is the information scrapped from...
