Thanks. I have never used ssh before, so I will have to look into what it is.

Re: RTC board

Thanks for the info. OK, so the hwclock command is done under Linux (the original SD card that comes with the DE-10)? Is there a CLI (shell) that can be launched from somewhere? I am not a Linux guy.

Re: RTC board

OK, thanks. So, there seems that there is no way to test the RTC without a network connection (ethernet - which I never use). I guess I will make a test fixture with an Arduino or something.

Re: RTC board

Is there some way to easily test the RTC boards? Something simple like the memtest program?

Re: RTC board

BOM is here: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/IO-Board-Assembly-(DIY) Your link doesn't go to the DIY page - it reverts you back to the /wiki page. Not sure why. This BOM is for v3.1 of the IOBoard, not v5.2 of the IOBoard. Does the v5.2 board use the exact same parts? Also note tha...

Re: Buy / Sell MiSTer Expansion Boards

I will post here once they are available. At the moment there is no complete BOM available for the IOBoard, so I can't do anything with those until that is resolved. I wasn't planning on making the vertical version of the SDRAM board because it limits the speed of the SDRAM. Should I be making all 3...

Re: RTC board

Are the BOMs available? Your schematic for the IOBoard doesn't show any type of part numbers for important items, like the VGA connector and others. I bought a 100 of each board with plans to assemble at least some, but without having an actual BOM with recommended part numbers, it's difficult to do...

Re: RTC board

This text is NOT on the pdf in the Github for v1.2 of the RTC. The only text in the .pdf (which is just a print of the Altium schematic page) is: B1, B1a: Only one battery should be installed. U1: M41T81, M41T81S, MCP79400, MCP79401, MCP79402, MCP79410, MCP79411, MCP79412 X1: 12.5pF for M41Txx, 6-9p...

Re: Buy / Sell MiSTer Expansion Boards

I got bare boards in today. I will be offering the bare boards shipped world-wide. I might offer the RAM boards assembled, but I am not sure if I will be offering any others assembled. I didn't realize that these boards are double-sided (components). This requires gluing each component to the board ...

I mean bare add-on boards, add-on board kits, and fully assembled add-on boards. I will not be selling the DE-10. I already tried to purchase them in quantity, and the Terasic won't allow it with any type of discount. If you are a student, you can purchase the board from them directly for $99 inste...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

LOL! Sorry, remember I am not an "Atari guy". I spent most of my life (from 1977 til now) working on Commodore stuff. I never made products for the Atari line, but I sold a lot of Supercard Ami's to Atari ST user groups that used an Amiga 500 to back up their Atari ST disks. :)

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

I will have to unpack my ST (all of my non-CBM machines are still packed due to my move). SCP already looks at the target drive and adjusts the bitcells so they are the same length (in time) for the rotational speed of the target drive. This was necessary because sometimes people dump disks with a 3...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

The protection relies on how the WD1772 actually decodes the write splice as part of the track read. It's the reason why the protection needs the key written separate after whatever created the protection reads the track. The WD1772 does different things. If the write splice created weakbits, you co...

Re: Buy / Sell MiSTer Expansion Boards

If anyone in the U.S. is interested, I am going to build a batch of add-on boards. I have SMT equipment here for making prototypes, so I can build a few dozen sets in an afternoon.

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Not in this specific case, but this sometimes can be a big problem. The dumps don't tell us the original index position, but only the position in the drive that was used to make the dump. And the relative index position in some drives can be quite different. This is true, however, a copy protection...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Exactly - the bytes between write splices. Not exactly the bytes between write splices. The key is the few bytes around the write splice. No... exactly. Write splice to write splice of course includes 100% of all bytes. Not in this specific case, but this sometimes can be a big problem. The dumps d...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Not at all. The protection reads the exact full, circular (which means including the data that crosses the write splice), content of the track as it is interpreted by the PLL. Exactly - the bytes between write splices. This is a protection used on a couple of Amiga disks too. The write splice relat...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

For a standard FDC like the WD1772, 8277A, etc., where it's not really possible to measure the time between bitcells (it's difficult enough to measure the time for each sector like with Rob's protection), you could get away with bitcells varying in length. The key is to make sure that from write spl...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

I don't think you have worked with actual flux much. I think you are thinking in terms of the WD1772 (or even MFM). You can certainly write a track with the exact same number of bitcells, and it doesn't matter where the index pulse is. You don't really need that much fiddling for flux. The only thin...
