Re: SuperCard Pro update!

It looks like we should be able to replace the filesystem handler so that we can support various disk formats. So, besides sticking in a disk and reading/writing it as MS-DOS, you could opt to read/write it as Amiga, Atari ST, Apple Mac, 1541, etc. I plan for support for 360K/1.2MB 5.25" drives...

SuperCard Pro update!

I have spent the last 6 months working on various new retro products, and now I am finally getting back to updating SuperCard Pro. I have hired a programmer through FreeLancer to write a virtual floppy driver so that disks inserted into a SuperCard Pro setup will appear as drive A: (or B:) under Win...

Wow... and here I complain about 1.6 million lines of assembly code taking almost 5 seconds to assemble! :)

I have a limited number of assembled XS type SDRAM boards and RTC boards, as well as v5.5 bare I/O boards. I ship world-wide daily.

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

The Apollo core is much like the 060 in that it has dual pipelines, so instructions using different registers can occur within the same cycle. If instructions are ordered correctly you can have a massive speed improvement. Gunnar added some special instructions for bit manipulation (reordering of bi...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Nobody ever had anything against the Vampire cards, rather the contrary - absolutely _ALL_ critics have been towards the CPU core and Gunnar himself. That's not entirely true. The head of intellectual security for the HDMI group contacted me when they learned (from a YouTube video) that I was going...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Phase 5's 060 board for the Amiga could use an 040 by just changing the main crystal and moving a jumper (3.3v->5v). They are pin compatible, just not voltage compatible. As someone who worked on Motorola's LSPLD project (doing the microcode for the 040 and 060 cores) as well as having written a sof...

Re: Local Sellers for MiSTer Expansion Boards

I am now completely out of Super Expansion Boards. I do have some XS SDRAM boards and RTC board in stock. I also have fans for the v5.x I/O boards, and I will be adding the custom heat sink I had made (24.5mm x 24.5mm). I will be offering a case shortly, printed using SLS printers at 35um resolution...

Re: Would MiSTer ever be able to run a Neo Geo core?

New interesting board from Terasic: https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?Language=English&CategoryNo=167&No=1211&PartNo=3 It's very similar to DE10-nano by main functions. It has dedicated separate DDR memory for FPGA. And it's 3 times expensive :) P.S: Just single 64MB SD...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

The core I am referring to has absolutely nothing to do with Mikej or Replay 1 (or 2). It is a core that has been worked on for the last year. It is a 68040 w/MMU and FPU. It has a 8-way SA cache, TLB, etc. just like a real 68040. The 040 is the simplest of the full (MMU/FPU) Motorola CPUs to emulat...

No, it is not. It is being created by a group of guys who can't stand Gunnar's attitude.

Yes, I am guessing so. Once it is done, it suppose to be released as public domain (not open source) with no licensing restrictions.

Re: [REQUEST] SD-Installer Option to Download Latest Cores

People DO want to remove the SD card and update it using their PC. This is the biggest request that I have had, and not just by a few people - like hundreds! While I suppose they can, You are better off to tell them to copy the update.sh script over to their mister SD card after they have done the ...

Re: C64 Core

Since the C64 core now has the ability to re-direct the USER port pins to the DE-10 UART, can you make it so those pins are available externally so we can run real C64 hardware?

Re: [REQUEST] SD-Installer Option to Download Latest Cores

Its a hobbyist project. It was at one time, but now with literally thousands of add-on boards sold, it is far from just a simple hobbyist project. It could grow exponentially, but these small details are what is holding it back. People DO want to remove the SD card and update it using their PC. Thi...

You can do this already with the F12 main mister menu, go to scripts, then select "updater" if you have put the updater.sh script on your mister SD card.. nothing to do .. just sit back and watch it automatically update/install any missing, new or updated cores, filters, etc.. . its liter...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

From what I understand, he wants to run the CPU emulation on an ARM core (which goes on a daughter-board of the FPGA-Arcade) and use FPGA only for the custom chips. This will not be a core in the strict FPGA sense, but will most probably faster than anything you could do on an affordable FPGA. Mayb...

Re: [REQUEST] SD-Installer Option to Download Latest Cores

Perhaps I should be more clear about what people have requested. Nobody but hard core people ever want to deliberately use a command line interface for anything. We live in modern times and everyone wants a GUI where you can just click a button and magically every core is updated on the SD card, wit...
