Re: Newdesk.inf and autostarting GEM apps

Hi, Finding the perfect emulation for your needs is a complicated path, but not impossible. It depends a lot on what you want to do as there is not one solution that fits them all. Do you want hardware compatibility for games, demos and touchy apps? Do you want the fastest and modern look and feel f...

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

To create the SD card I use the shell under osX or Linux : sudo dd bs=1m if=<your image file>.img of=/dev/<disk# from diskutil> Though these utilities are recommended in the how to, I don’t know if they modify the boot sequence. If it works, perfect, but keep in mind that could be a cause of your is...

What archiver have you used?

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

I have tested the new build. It improves a bit vs the previous one.
TOS 4.04 falcon Mode, boots on IDE image and use C:\newdesk.inf as expected.
TOS 2.06 Mega STE Mode, and ACSI image boots using the standard INF and not the one on C:\.
At least I have temporary solution for the time being. Thanks.

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

The hanging at power on boot is a bug that I have described in the documentation. It has nothing to do with your Pi Top. It’s annoying, but for now the only solution is to press ctrl+alt+del just after Emutos boots, or Alt+F12 and choose shutdown to restart Aranym. Subsequent reboots don’t hang unti...

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

Hi Joe, Yes, you must use shutdown app to shutdown properly BeePi otherwise you may corrupt the Linux host system. You can access it with a right click on a desktop or by opening Taskbar menu and choose “shutdown”. Switching off mechanically will corrupt your install after a while and make it unusab...

It doesn’t seem to be available on eBay anymore, but I believe that from the date on his Web site he is still in activity. Send him an email to confirm, but from what I can read you can still order directly and pay with PayPal. He answers quickly to emails and the products are of excellent quality. ...

I have read in this forum that SCSI2SD adaptor was too slow for CAF.
I have CAF working well with a SCSI to CF card Aztec Monster. That’s another option.

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

Well, I don’t think that win7 and above may run on a 32 bits proc. XP should do the trick. Keep in mind that you will lose many features from BeeKey like : printing, plug’n play Internet, Hatari integration. Now, talking about features, I am working on BeeKey, BeePi and EasyAraMint update to come ne...

Hi Ian,

It’s on my todo list, but to be honest not as a priority. So it should come later in autumn.

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

It works as expected in TOS 2.06.
To make it work I had to put the path in capital letter and between comas, otherwise I had an error message at boot.
hatari --auto 'C:\DESKTOP\DESKTOP.PRG'

Now for the Falcon mode, how do you force a VGA mode at boot?

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

I have build Hatari 2.1.0 latest snapshot for Ubuntu (14.04,15.10,16.10), and in every case the HD drive doesn't boot properly. source : hg clone http://hg.tuxfamily.org/mercurialroot/hatari/hatari I build it with default ./configure, make, make install and got no error. Re: Falcon/CT60e video options

Yes, and I have tested it in detail. CT60e has a slight hardware modification vs CT60 and CT63 which needs a new patched TOS , and this patch has been applied only to TOS 1.04, not to TOS 2.02 which is necessary to use CTPCI. Yesterday I have talked to a guy that told me that this "slight hard...

But it does not work for me, yet :( The lightest backend I currently have uses directfb in between kms/drm and sdl2. The resulting backend is now roughly 20MB (gzipped initramfs + linux kernel). Not bad, but I'm not sure I didn't lost the accceleration. Wow, it sounds amazing ! I am looking forward...

Did you considder to enhance your MiNT distribution to be able to install it also on real Atari (compatible) hardware, like TT, Falcon, Firebee, Milan, Hades, Eagle, ST with Turbocards+Alt/TT-RAM, Vampirized ST/Amiga? No, it is not part of my priorities for now, may be in a "not so close"...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

Next step should be to unite all kinds of MiNT Distributions (see Vincents presentation, I think all flavours are listed), packages and so ob to get something what functions "out of the box" on all (Emu)TOS supported platforms Actually Faucon2001 has done a huge step forward in this area....
