Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Hahaha. So basically the VGA to HDMI converter doesnt solve anything really. Apart from that your display device may have different tolerances for HDMI than VGA input; so this works IF your display device can handle 15khz HDMI.

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Thanks for confirming that the vga>hdmi works at 50hz output. I have just ordered one to add to my collection of converters. The VGA > HDMI converter I already have does not produce any output. Im interested to see if this one does in my case!

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

All those cheap HDMI converters; I've bought a ton of them and none have done 50 Hz motion. They have either dropped every second field of the PAL signal or added a de-interlace that merges fields. Either way, the end result is 25 Hz motion. Not good enough. Excuse my lack of proper eyesight :) - s...

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Hi everyone, I also wanted to try connecting my ST on some modern display. I bought and tried various SCART->HDMI solutions and made a quick video to show the results. I compared the different models, and shared my findings to the community: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c25dlHFW584 Only based on...

Am I right that the site (http://www.julien-nevo.com/arkostracker ... /download/) does not offer a 2.0.0.3a version (latest I rpesume) build for Mac OSX? If so, would you be willing and able to make a latest build?

Its aroundd 1 scanline for raw YM dump.
Lets say around 20 scanlines for mYM player.

Where to start is a broad question; and I do not have a single answer for you there. But please consider the following: - To help understand the various m68k operation and their operands: http://frummel.org/~weedz/atari/docs/Summary%2068000%20Instruction%20Set.pdf - To find a general tutorial as to ...

Re: [ASM] Fast Muls and Divs Help

The last solution should be viable for both muls and divs; and is actually quite fast, and precise. I think I should use this approach sometime :) Not sure to understand. To switch to divs mode we should need an additionnal ASR.W ? I didnt look at the math, i just assumed the proposed stuff would w...

Ok. Just the math you used, with my interpretation: - Original Code: lea sqrtab(pc),a0 move.w d0,d2 ; 4 add.w d1,d0 ; 4 a+b sub.w d1,d2 ; 4 a-b add.w d0,d0 ; 4 add.w d2,d2 ; 4 move.w (a0,d0.w),d0 ; 16 (a+b)^2 sub.w (a0,d2.w),d0 ; 16 (a+b)^2-(a-b)^2 asr.w #2,d0 ; 8 Total: 60 cycles Obvious optimizati...

Re: [ASM] Fast Muls and Divs Help

Hello, and welxome! Good to see the number of asm programming enthusiasts growing ;). I am not familiar with your approach as a common used technique for muls, but I will give it some thought tonite after work. So far I have used two ways to speed up divs (they are ranging up to 144 cycles iirc, whe...

Re: why use ASM anymore

What you lose in programming time, you gain in cpu time.

If execution computing speed is of the essence, using asm on the atari is the only way to push the envelope on the machine.

It not being mentioned here is another indication that its gravely undervalued ;)
