The ini file recently got an option to allow to specify rom files in the core specific part of the ini file. Maybe i could somehow include the name of the core on sd card into that scheme. So you could add a second copy of the c64 core to sd card and switch between configs by switching between these...

Sure, vga sync timing can be adjusted. My screens cope fine with the currrent timing so i had no reason to change it.

I once tried the 18khz signal but could not find a single screen that coped with that. But that was before YPbPr times so i might try again.

A few days ago i implemented a way to specify roms in the mist.ini. This will alow to specify several individual roms like floppy, kernal and basic.

Still have to release a firmware binary for that. And i totally forgot what a mess this sd csrd stuff in the firmware is.

Indeed. I implemented a scan quadrupler. But the timing is pretty far from genuine VGA modes so it doesn' surprise me that especially TVs don't cope with that. I also tried to jmplement YPbPr but none of my screens coped with the resulting signals.

You can probably go pretty fast with an FPGA based 68k if you spend plenty of time. But have a look at your own use case. You want to run two programs and "surf the web". I am pretty sure this wouldn't entertain you very long. So you are basically asking someone to spend thousands of hours...

Not just. It distinguishes between instruction fetch and data read. Ok. But the minimig does not make use of that. The atari core in fact does to implement separate data and instruction caches. Unfortunately, current Minimig code uses internal signals from tg68k, so it's hard to try other 68K implementations. Which ones? The tg68k does not expose any internal signals. It runs at 28MHz in my old spartan3e no problem. Doesn't seem too much. The tg68k uses less cycles per instruction you can barely compare these. The STEroids mode of the MIST Atari core is basically a tg68k running at 32Mhz. As a result it scores roughly twice the numbers the Atari TT gets: https:/...

A very long time ago the MIST had support for that. I once booted a MIST from a USB stick. But there were two show stoppers: The USB on the MIST is very slow. Much slower than the ad card which also isn't that fast. It was awfully slow. And usb mass storage is a mess with so many special cases here ...

The MIST has no means for audio input since the real Atari ST also wasn't able to record audio. There were sampler for the st using e.g. a ADC on the printer port. One could implement that with the help of a USB sound card on the MIST. But that's a lot of work and I doubt it's worth the effort. What...

Prg loading is a nasty hack and the core does some magic fiddling in memory that a regular c64 would do itself while loading. It may very well be the case that this doesn't work properly with all games.

The Atari ST Core supports Four joysticks for quite some time and because of the new Atari st games frogs this possibility has recently gotten some attention.

So I am pretty sure four joysticks do work nicely.

That the floppy actually activates when the emulated atari accesses it and not just for one long time at startup and shutdown.

This works as well: ln -s /dev/sdb ./sdb.st hatari sdb.st I can even create a folder. But it's newer written back .... Edit: it is written back once i close hatari. Also it seems that hatari reads the entire disk at startup and then newer accesses it again. So this doesn't give any retro feeling ....

I do have a NEC UF0002 USB floppy drive which is one of the few that can read TOS formatted 720k disks. And while i can access itunder /dev/sdb as a regular user from userland hatari simply ignores it if i try to configure it. But even if it worked it would likely not be the experience you'd expect....
