Re: Tempest 4000 on PC....yes, dear

Bought Tempest 4000 on PC yesterday (on the day of release), sad to say it's not what I was hoping for, lack of control choices and general shoddy conversion to PC platform. What on Earth are you talking about? Both txk and t4k were developed on PC so it's not a conversion! I did read though that i...

I have one that has a CT2 fitted that won't display any signal when turned on. It used to though, so it's queued for a recap.

Hello GGn I did not understand everything, and of course I could not use it. Okay, let me clarify things for you then move.l $0114.w,zakjump+2 , written on 'T_C!' ? zakjump: move.l #'T_C!',-(SP) Why do you put it on the pile ? Yes, this is a bit of self modifying code. You should run the code at th...

Re: Falcon: Painters or converters that save in raw format

Photochrome should manage Falcon formats. I'm not sure if Doug added it to some internal betas, so if the latest release doesn't have it we should prod Doug to release a newer version :)

Anyone tried this thing then? https://www.arananet.net/pedidos/produc ... cosmos-ex/

It seems like a good solution to fit a cosmosex internally (if it works!) and solves the cabling problem.

Congrats to Dan the beer man winning against established Sommarhack groups like DHS and SMFX! I liked the '90s look and feel with '10s sensitivities. 20 years made us all much more sophisticated :) Also, we (me+XiA+Acca) also won! The twist seemed to have made a good impression to the crowd, and the...

Re: gcc 7.1 for the ST series

Well, -Ttext=0 is there. Another thing is that I have to manually specify -fleading-underscore, otherwise my code doesn't build, but it's already there in CFLAGS_FOR_TARGET. I noticed that it still says --prefix=/home/simon/brown, which is where I built everything. I later moved everything to /opt/...

Re: gcc 7.1 for the ST series

Did you link with "-Ttext=0"? If not, try enabling that as I suspect that's the issue. That did the trick. So, why does it default to putting .text at an 0x80000000 offset? Is it just an Linux and/or ELF thing? Pretty much yes - I think this is a default value mandated by the ELF format, ...

I don't see anything out of ordinary -- setting up the sound system, switching the cache off, setting up the Blitter and CPU to 8 MHz, installing its own exception vectors. The only interesting thing would be to know how exactly he is reconfiguring the PMMU and why. He's just moving the PMMU table ...

Re: Anyone to convert a Z80 music player?

Wow, I'm not sure this is the responsability of AT2 to manage such cases... IMO that's always the can o' worms anyone is opening when trying to use a different platform and tools. IMO yes it's the exporter's responsibility to handle all export problems. But hey, this is your show here - if you thin...

Re: Need idea to do something faster

am i completely wrong when i saying, that you get the value as a CHR (string) and not a value form 0-9? Yes, that is correct! You get a string of ascii characters, ready to print. I guess it's possible to convert to 0-9 values if you change the '0' constants loaded to 0 (and probably a few o...

the dc statements width Huh, what is that? Do you need another option in the source generator? Re: Anyone to convert a Z80 music player?

Hey, great job. About the song events, I guess you used the "songToEvent" CLI tool or "export event" from within the software? We used the cli tool and then some find-and-replace to convert the dc statements width. This is bundled inside a script that also exports the .aks files...

Hello, just dropping by to give an update on the player. So, since last time I posted the player: ⋅  supports song events, i.e. special codes the musician can add to the tune and picked up from the code ⋅  supports SID song events, so you can turn SID channels on and off using ev...

Since this resonates a bit with what I've recently done, perhaps you could use Arkos tracker 2 for the YM part?

Cool, only twice slower than raw YM and much, much much, more memory-efficient! Do you consider your player finished? If possible, I'd like a version to be integrated to the Arkos Tracker 2 package. Do you think it is a good idea, or do you prefer only having a repository? I like somehow having the...

Re: Anyone to convert a Z80 music player?

I just managed to do some measurements using gwEm's CPU measurer (is that even a word? anyway). Hatari profiler can measure an exact amount of cycles for you, for any part of your code. Probably easiest way to do that is adding symbol for start and end of the part of code you want to measure before...
