Re: Electronic Arts disk numbering for their European releases

I had a look on the moby games site and they often have disk scans under the cover art section. I found this one http://www.mobygames.com/game/pinball-construction-set/cover-art/gameCoverId,113580/ E02651XL for PinBall construction set. You can also search for EA published games by year there http:/...

Re: Optimized 16 color palette

Recently I have been using Pixaki on my iPad it has this palette built in. This is an example I did the other day. http://i.imgur.com/1ohoGV3.png?1 Using about nine colours of the sixteen. The only question I have with this palette is how close can the ST reproduce the colours. I don't currently hav...

Re: FireBee housing

Is it possible to just print smaller parts and then connect them together? That way you could use a smaller printer. Also can you hire a larger printer? I mean you send the files to a company and they print it out for you for a price.

Re: When did you have your first 16bit Atari?

I think I got my 1040 STFM in 1988. It cost over $800 AUD and was second hand from a friend of my fathers. I think the first game I played was Goldrunner, I had upgraded from a VIC20 and the leap in graphics/sound/speed was amazing. I kept using it until about 94-95 when I got a PC.

Re: Key codes in hatari ?

I'm having trouble getting Hatari to recognise the \ key. I have the right SDLkeycode 92 for it but the Hatari code 86 doesn't work. I got the Hatari code from the source file http://hg.tuxfamily.org/mercurialroot/hatari/hatari/file/63c1d7c59d25/src/keymap.c I found out from another thread that the ...

Re: Name of 2D space trading game

After reading a few scans of STart magazine I found the answer to my own question. In issue 38 is a game called Galactic Merchant. I don't know how you came up with issue 38 as STart magazine uses the volume x/number 1-12 scheme. ;) Anyone else trying to find it should see here: http://www.atarimag...

Name of 2D space trading game

I remember playing this game on my ST. It was similar to Elite in the trading aspects but gameplay was 2D. There was a mini game for being attacked by pirates and another for landing on a planet. I believe the game was PD and was included on the front of STart magazine. Does anyone know about this g...

Re: Dungeon Master (ST) versus Eye of Beholder (PC)?

Recently I have been playing Might and Magic 1 DOS version. My party died twice before leaving the first town grr. Also Legend of Grimrock on PC. Maybe I should try DM on the ST. Have also been reading the book Dungeons and Desktops the history of computer role-playing. Very interesting seeing the a...

I have never played DM but I played Mystic Well on the ST and Captive on an Amiga. Later I played a bit of EOTB but it didn't hook me like Mystic Well or Captive did.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16365542/3D-Construction-Kit-2-manual-rev2.pdf I fiddled with the PDF made from those images including the cleaned up ones that Mug UK did and some pages that I cleaned up, but I wasn't happy with the final file size or performance. So I wondered if it was possible to create...

Re: First News 2013

I only found out about the Firebee less than a month ago. It is very interesting. I like the way it keeps the 68K base by using Coldfire (even if Coldfire is slightly different) but uses the Cyclone III for the helper chips. Unfortunatly for me I cannot afford a machine like that at the moment :( I ...

Re: R-Type Deluxe Beta Released!

I don't really think the 2MB bug is a problem in Hatari as you can easily change the memory size in the emulator. I would be worried if it did that on a real machine with 2MB. I only have a 1MB ST so I can't test it.

Re: R-Type Deluxe Beta Released!

When I tried this demo in Hatari (STE, TOS 1.06) and the memory was set to 2MB then it would bring up the requirements text and would not load any further however if the memory was set to 1MB or 4MB then it would load properly. And if the memory is set to 1MB you get a graphics glitch I assume simil...

Hi, I live in Queensland Australia and I enjoy retro computing. My favourite computers being those that I had when i was young. A VIC20 and an Atari ST. The ST I got in 1988 it was a 1040STFM and I think it had a dual sided drive. I enjoyed playing games and writing programs using STOS. I even had t...
