Re: Anyone else having bad first experiences on Amibay?

I was also instantly banned (I registered through a VPN). After a mail with explanation this was fixed. You should see this as strength of Amibay: the moderators are really aware, quick and do care about the offering (which is far more important on such a forum than on a "normal" forum, as...

Re: Game list released exclusively for Atari ST

During the last months I checked some old magazines and found a lot games where not converted to Amiga in the years 1986-1988 and also many US only ST releases are missing on the lists. So here are some additions (more to come - some of those aren't even on Atarimania yet :)). Criteria: commercial g...

Re: Hatari 1.8.0 has been released

I really like 1.8, especially the STX support and the ability to switch back to single sided disk drives. Very cool to find out the specs of a game. STX seems very stable and I am really happy for the first time being useable this format on my Linux laptop without overkilling Windows-VM solutions. I...

Re: Giana Sisters STE - New Game!

Is there any external location where to download the game? Problem is you need to be registered on the forum to see the download link -- which is quite inconvenient (this just happened as I send the link to a friend).

Anyway: great improvement of the game!

Re: TT serial speed not higher than 38400

Thanks for the reply. And hmmmmpf, somehow I knew that. My TT is lacking the VME cover and therefore both Serial1/2 are not available :( I really hoped the Modem2 is also driven by the SCC and therefore as fast as the two additional ports.

TT serial speed not higher than 38400

I am connecting my TT by Modem2 port with a Linux host (USB serial adapter). TT has all the HSMODEM drivers installed and loaded (SCC, MFP_TT). On 19200 and 38400 bauds I have no problems (using Connect 95 with either text transfer and file transfer with Zmodem), but any higher speed simply does not...

Great project! I transfered a lot of files in the last weeks to my TT, and the common way with a terminal program is just inconvenient. I will test this with my Linux laptop asap.

Re: Horizontal scrolling on the Atari TT

I faced the same issue sometimes ago. unfortunately I had no time to investigate that. There you can find a bit more about TT and video capabilities http://atari-ste.anvil-soft.com/html/devdocu2.htm Reading the text suggests the STE registers are present and working on the TT -- although it is quit...

Horizontal scrolling on the Atari TT

Hi all, very short: : attached is a small program. If you have access to a real TT, please start it (t.tos) and simply post if the bars on screen are moving or not. Thanks! short : can somebody confirm STE-like horizontal scrolling (pixel skip + line offset) is working on the TT? My situation: on my...

Question how to fit a circuit board without screws

Hi all, my TT finally got an Compact Flash hard drive, by an SCSI->IDE converter. It works fine, is fast and I am happy. But now I have a problem: neither the board of the SCSI adapter nor the IDE->CD adapter are having holes for screws (nor enough place for me to make the holes myself). And the TT ...

Re: Wanted: TT & Falcon for development

I've tried Hatari, but haven't tried cross compilation on the PC. I code on the PC and compile in the emulator at the moment. Does Hatari's TT/Falcon emulation come pretty close to the real thing? Generally speaking, yes. It depends on what you plan to do. The instruction cycle counting is not perf...

Re: Wanted: TT & Falcon for development

You can instantly start developing for TT/Falcon even without the hardware present, using Hatari emulator and VBCC/VASM or GCC cross compilation environments on the PC (maybe giving a little more time searching for cheaper real hardware).

Re: Preview version of Hatari 1.8 with STX support

Hooray! Thanks, this is really really good news for us non-Windows users, because handling with a Window VM just to get an ST emulator running for Pasti/IPF support was quite of weird.

I am testing some homemade Pastis the next days, if there are any problems, I will report.

Re: TOS disassembly or "where does supertos come from?"

In the German "ST Intern" book there was a commented disassembly of TOS 1.0 (or 1.2?). Most likely a bit old, but I guess many functions didn't change. And even worse, I do not know an online source.

Very cool work! Could you make a version without the background (only the triangles and Thalion text) like it was on the T-Shirts? I think that should look even greater.

Re: Protection for boxed Atari ST games (cases)

In his release mail before he started to sell the cases he mentioned that he wants to sell cases for big boxes, too -- if demand for the medium size cases is high enough (he even had a prototype shown). But indeed: the Dungeon Master / Maniac Mansion like boxes are the worst.

Re: Protection for boxed Atari ST games (cases)

I could add my personal experience to that tip (I have 10 of these cases btw, so not a single one). The good: ⋅ Medium size boxes are perfecty fitting in the case (for the ST: these are a huge portion of boxes, at least in my collection) ⋅ Serious seller, made several purchases f...
