Re: Jeanne d'Arc [French version]

No problem, it's interesting in itself and it gives me something to feature in v3.9.4.

Re: Jeanne d'Arc [French version]

Downloaded the game at atarimania. It doesn't crash, it leaves properly calling PTerm() and all :) Not sure yet but this dongle looks more annoying than the others, it seems to constantly trigger interrupts under some conditions. Emulating this is heavier than changing some port bit. EDIT: heavier d...

Re: Steem 3.9.3 problem

Maybe I've seen it before.
The demo hits at cycle 4 for the left border trick, 2 cycles too late for the STE.

I think that the fact that it was under an alternative OS Magic was important enough to be disclosed at once!
Of course one assumes it's under TOS.

Re: Graphical glitches in 3.9.3 linked to "Wake up" state

It is one of the confusing options in Steem SSE, and that's why it is now hidden unless option 'Advanced Settings' is checked. 'Ignore' would disable more analysis in v3.9.2. Normally, the demo "Closure" works whatever the option in v3.9.3 (still need ADAT, not my fault  ) but in ...

Re: Graphical glitches in 3.9.3 linked to "Wake up" state

No, 'ignore' defaults to the wakestates I said for frequency and compatibility reasons, but some "shifter tricks" are then not tested. Like "destabilisation" (Bee demos, etc.). In the case of OVRII, it allows you to have the demo without glitch. It makes sense because the test fo...

Re: Graphical glitches in 3.9.3 linked to "Wake up" state

I was giving you a personal statistic since I check demos on my STE, not a recent test. Unless other people chime in to defend the current default, I'll change it in next version, it's just a line of code. But that's no bug. Just adapting to unsafe programmer practices! What the emulator i...

Re: Graphical glitches in 3.9.3 linked to "Wake up" state

On my STE, dots on edgy demos are frequent, I'd say it's 50%.
The dude has several STE's, so better stats.
To me it's no big deal reverting it, as I said your voice counts, for the moment it is 2 vs 1.

Re: Steem 3.9.3 problem

Thx. The STE behaviour on Extra 7 demos is normal. There's a flicker on Stickmygg Och Motmedel, not with v3.9.3 but with the beta. From memory, some Japtro screens are trashy, don't think there's a bug. I fixed the PHALEON / CHAOTIC 2 bug, good find, there was a silly CPU timing mistake. The hack fo...

In fact it needs T206UK + 4096K to work w/o any problem! Note: With that config theres also no any bad sound in pdx! (in Bugs.txt is mentioned bad sound in pdx to be correct?) Cheers! Great find! Re: Steem 3.9.3 problem

First, thx for testing this megademo, I never have the courage, too many ladders.
Yes, it's interesting too.
Steem detects a spurious Shifter destabilization but only if a wakestate is selected.

Re: Steem 3.9.3 problem

It's because in v3.8.2, all STW disks are played slowly, in current version it's an option and for this demo it's necessary.
I'll add this to the hint doc.

Re: Steem 3.9.3 problem

Thx, interesting. The HD6301 really crashes because it is reset while a button is pressed. It puts the chip in a mode that is not emulated and won't work properly on the ST. When it is left mouse button, only the keyboard response is really wrong, joystick and mouse still seem to operate. When it is...

Re: Note Wizard - Midi Music Lessons (Strange copy behavior)

Yo, Notice it says "LEAVE WRITE TAB CLOSED" on the disk. If the disk is write-protected, the protection fails (countdown so you can rectify this). The software writes on track 79 then reads back. If it was written OK like on your normal floppy, the protection fails. If it returns an error ...

Some more bugs were fixed, new beta builds are available here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/steemsse/files/DevBuilds/ If there are no new bugs, it could be released at the end of the month. Tracked down the reason for the regression, it's MFP timing.
Still not sure it should work on a STF, but probably.

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Regarding the Pasti images, you might need to use the undocumented diag Code 16 in the Pasti Config Option pane. I'll provide later a correct 1.3 Pasti image that doesn't need this option. For 1.5 it is more difficult since we don't have a flux level dump of that version. Tests seem to confirm that...

Re: STeem 3.9.1 load disk image AND mem snapshot?

Hi, I can understand that people have a more on and off approach to emulation. The feature was beta-only waiting for your feedback, it will be in release 3.9.4. Good luck on your project. It's no wonder that Steem SSE 32bit works better as snapshot compatibility isn't maintained between 32bit and 64...

About IPL check delay, there's this not so hard to find figure 5-11 in the M68K User Manual: iack_figure.jpg Look at the little arrows on the top, indicating that IPL is sampled sometime during the last bus cycle of the instruction. Incredibly, I never really paid attention to it. Now does that mean...
