Re: What might be causing this crash screen 1040STf

Check the GLUE socket, and MMU socket as well. Could be a contact problem, these sockets are well known for that.

Re: 1040 STE capacitors

In my experience the mainboard's capacitors in all Atari ST series computers are of good quality and did not lost relevant capacity over the past ~30 years. The only point where you have to take care are some capacitors in the power supplies. We don't have that massive problem that our friends with ...

Re: CT60e is coming :)

The last Word in MMU Support on vamp is not spoken yet. They just have other priority for the Moment. Some day it will get relevant for them as their target for one day is to support any software running on 68k, and that includes also Linux68k. Linux without MMU is what....?

Look into the circuit diagram, you can find it on dev-docs.org. There you will discover all clock frequencies used by the chips.

Re: Is that really an ST prototype ?

The only interesting on this is that "/ATARI ST/" label on the top cover. That might be from a prototype, but the rest not, the total thing is just a Frankenstein's monster. Maybe strange is also that the STE bottom has no sticker as well, but it also could just have been removed. I would ...

Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)

bigdos is still missing in this list! http://rainer-seitel.onlinehome.de/bigdos.html

For me this is an absolute "must have installed" extension for plain TOS. Note that it should be placed as the last file in boot order.

Re: GEM-Write, GEM-Graph, GEM-Paint

Find Draw & Paint attached. I don't have Graph and I have no idea if that was released. It's very possible that draw & paint won't run on more modern Atari systems, as far as I remember it could be possible that it can run on a ST with TOS 2.06 and 68020, because I found it on my server in t...

Re: CT60e is coming :)

Would (turn on "dream mode" now) something like the Vampire be compatible it? Yes, why not. Falcon's expansion bus where the ct60e docks in is very similar to Amiga 1200's trapdoor expansion connector. Both are based on the 680x0 bus protocol, both are 24 Bit adress bus, but the one is 16...

My most favourites with overscan are some screens in Sowatt and the Union demo (there you have to fly far to the right and find the correct door)

If C-Lab bought the rights from Atari, to the Falcon then does that mean that Apple now own the rights to the Falcon ?

Re: Solution for higher resolutions on STE?

It already could be on the way since a year. What I can tell, is that it is now under testing. It still will need it's time, but we will see it. Now you hate it, you don't believe it, then you will love it. And those who do that work now will be your heroes.

Re: Solution for higher resolutions on STE?

There will be a solution which can be plugged just on the CPU. It is not only graphics card. It the thing many of you don't believe in that it happens. But it will happen this year and you will love it. "The others" have it already.

I prefer using the server on the Atari and the Client on the PC because this combination is much faster than vice versa, the user interface runs much smoother on PC.

Hey, nice! Thank you! But I have replaced the Stielow-TOS by original.

And I have a relabled Megafile from Stielow. But this has no changes compared to original.

Can you scan the manual and make photos of the keyboard with it's stickers.

Did you understand what is the purpose of this mod?

Atari Mega STE and TT will soon habe Lightning USB interface. There is also NetUSBee with USB interface and something for ACSI-DMA-port with USB. There must be a skilled software programmer which could make a CUBASE driver for that...????
