Re: Nostalgia Nerd - Atari Falcon video

Interestingly that video shows a working Sparrow with TOS 2.07 at about 14:40. As the video quality of that scene is quite good I expect that video is not old. Wow!

Atari SLM 804 Laserprinter and Panasonic Drum kit?

Hello, I am searching for an information about a replacement drum kit for the SLM 804. As it is known, the SLM is originally an TEC LB-1301 printer with different interface and chassis design/color. Some time ago I collected a list of all printers from OEM brands which used the TEC LB-1301 mechanics...

Re: SCSI2SD for TT help configuring!

No, PC has different partition schema, incompatibe to Atari (except if you use pera putnik driver).

You shoud repartition again, make the 1 GB partitions slightly smaller than 1 GB. That's what I did, instead of 1024 MB (1GB) only 1000 MB. And take the latest version of BIGDOS.

Re: SCSI2SD for TT help configuring!

Fat32 is unsupported for TOS.

I suppose to make the 1 GB partitions a little bit smaller than 1 GB. Instead of 1024 MB only 1000 MB. I don't have other idea, this way it works for my two TT.

Re: 720k Floppies with Windows 10 and a USB Floppy drive.

Windows 10 has no limits with floppy drive formats, it can read/write 3,5 ich, 5,25 ich, 320 kb, 640 kb, 720 kb, 1,2 MB, 1,44 MB, 2,88 MB. Most of them I could already test on a PC with a 3,5+5,25 compo drive (except of the last one as I have no drive/controller for that). The limit is the USB drive...

ANother thing, as I just have read about it somewhere else, did you have enabled backround DMA in HDDRIVER? If yes, disable it.

Re: not-so-stable TT

Do you have an osciloscope? If yes, check the stability pf the +5V with it, while trying to bomb it, like above. Check the voltage at the power supply, a capacitor near CPU, near ST and TT RAM, and so on.

Some remarks, this thread has a lot of incacciracies... 1) Re: The Falcon's confusing history - Postby bid » 29 Jan 2017, 21:38 Falcon Microbox was planned - according to different sources - 030 or 040 based, it's not clear. The rumors I heared about Microbox in about 1992/93 was 030. The difference...

joska, I understand your arguments about abandonware, they are more catholic than the pope. WIth your argumentation, no EasyAraMint, no Beeky, no Amitari with Atari-Works and DOOM +WAD file inside. They already contain all of these applications. I don't want that someone to integrated HDDRIVER and N...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

The intersting on MiNT is, besides Multitasking, the integration of a kind of Unix system with all it's tools, X, networking and other possibilities. That is what I like on a full installation of EasyMint. But I dislike that it looks so incomplete compared to EasyAraMint. Imagine a Vanilla- or EasyM...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

Vanilla could be a start, but after it is installed, it is very simple, light and unusable. Just an empty basic desktop. Compare with EasyAramint, Amitari, BeeKey, BeePi and BeeBox, you boot it up, it looks nice with color effects, nice backround on desktop, preinstalled applications for many needs,...

Hello Philippe, thank you for this. Interesting. Did you considder to enhance your MiNT distribution to be able to install it also on real Atari (compatible) hardware, like TT, Falcon, Firebee, Milan, Hades, Eagle, ST with Turbocards+Alt/TT-RAM, Vampirized ST/Amiga? Yes, i think, this might be a bit...

Next step should be to unite all kinds of MiNT Distributions (see Vincents presentation, I think all flavours are listed), packages and so ob to get something what functions "out of the box" on all (Emu)TOS supported platforms Actually Faucon2001 has done a huge step forward in this area....

Re: CPU/Processor Upgrade for the Atart ST

That's what I wrote, the testing in ST currently works with hand modified Vampire cards. Vampire board has some test pins. These were redefined in the FPGA programming to behave like the missing signals and connected to the unused 68000 socket pins. As soon as it works, I think they will modify the ...

So how you would plug a Vampire 600 into a Mega ST? Ingo and the Apollo Team do their tests with ST and Mega ST, not STE.
