ANother thing, as I just have read about it somewhere else, did you have enabled backround DMA in HDDRIVER? If yes, disable it.

Re: not-so-stable TT

Do you have an osciloscope? If yes, check the stability pf the +5V with it, while trying to bomb it, like above. Check the voltage at the power supply, a capacitor near CPU, near ST and TT RAM, and so on.

Re: The Falcon's confusing history

Some remarks, this thread has a lot of incacciracies... 1) Re: The Falcon's confusing history - Postby bid » 29 Jan 2017, 21:38 Falcon Microbox was planned - according to different sources - 030 or 040 based, it's not clear. The rumors I heared about Microbox in about 1992/93 was 030. The difference...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

joska, I understand your arguments about abandonware, they are more catholic than the pope. WIth your argumentation, no EasyAraMint, no Beeky, no Amitari with Atari-Works and DOOM +WAD file inside. They already contain all of these applications. I don't want that someone to integrated HDDRIVER and N...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

I see already, you need about another year to understand my idea. Same as with Vampire (soon this will be alive on ST board).

Ps: If you don't need that unix stuff, just don't open the bash...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

The intersting on MiNT is, besides Multitasking, the integration of a kind of Unix system with all it's tools, X, networking and other possibilities. That is what I like on a full installation of EasyMint. But I dislike that it looks so incomplete compared to EasyAraMint. Imagine a Vanilla- or EasyM...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

Vanilla could be a start, but after it is installed, it is very simple, light and unusable. Just an empty basic desktop. Compare with EasyAramint, Amitari, BeeKey, BeePi and BeeBox, you boot it up, it looks nice with color effects, nice backround on desktop, preinstalled applications for many needs,...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

Hello Philippe, thank you for this. Interesting. Did you considder to enhance your MiNT distribution to be able to install it also on real Atari (compatible) hardware, like TT, Falcon, Firebee, Milan, Hades, Eagle, ST with Turbocards+Alt/TT-RAM, Vampirized ST/Amiga? Yes, i think, this might be a bit...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

Next step should be to unite all kinds of MiNT Distributions (see Vincents presentation, I think all flavours are listed), packages and so ob to get something what functions "out of the box" on all (Emu)TOS supported platforms Actually Faucon2001 has done a huge step forward in this area....

Re: CPU/Processor Upgrade for the Atart ST

That's what I wrote, the testing in ST currently works with hand modified Vampire cards. Vampire board has some test pins. These were redefined in the FPGA programming to behave like the missing signals and connected to the unused 68000 socket pins. As soon as it works, I think they will modify the ...

Re: CPU/Processor Upgrade for the Atart ST

IIRC Vampire v2 doesn't support Atari ST due to lack of signals like VPA,VMA and E needed by ST That is not correct. Now you are not correct. In the first tests a few weeks ago in ST board they had to rewire some Vampire test pins to unwired pins on the 68000 socket. We told the Apollo team already...

Re: CPU/Processor Upgrade for the Atart ST

Next step seems to have been done, SAGA can support ST Shifter video modes. http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php It's not clear from that link if that is running already on a ST mainboard or Amiga.

Believe me, they are working on it. Above you see a posting from Ingo, they are doing it.

But it's still too early, I hoped so, but it is still not booting successfully. But we soon will see it.

Looks like, they got it... The baby seems to fly... Falcon with ct60 is a slow (not lame!) duck against this... (except some graphics benches on SuperVidel, but this seems to be possible to speed up by optimze the SAGA-VDI driver) See http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=2&note=14104&z...

What happened to www.aranym.org ?

Hi,

did I miss something? What happened to https://www.aranym.org/ ? When I go to there, it opens a website "Amy Info - Tech Tips from Amy"

Has aranym website moved elsewhere or has it been hijacked, or some DNS issue?

I know, this is still there: https://aranym.github.io/

Re: CPU/Processor Upgrade for the Atart ST

The SAGA continues... Apollo teams is asking for informations about video modes of ATARI chipsets. Do you remember, a year ago I already asked in this forum for exactly this kind of support to them from specialists logged in here. They sooon will have booting ATARI ST with plugged in Vampire V4 card...
