Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Famous Schrodinger's cat hypothetical experiment says that cat is dead or alive until we open box and see condition of poor animal, which deserved better logic. Cat is always in some certain state - regardless from is observer able or not to see what the state is. Your understanding of Schrödinger'...

Re: NEW and UNUSED ATARI 1040 STE for SALE

Don't listen to the haters. It's great that there are still NOS Ataris out there, with matching box. The price is correct when a buyer and a seller agree - and everyone else's opinion doesn't matter at all.

Nice machine!

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

I know 100% that I'm 100% right. Of course that I'm right here - not because I'm so smart, but because some people even did not try to check the whole issue. This is not about is that behavior of Ikbdsys such by design, or is some side effect. It is just about who is smarter, who knows TOS better. ...

Of course it's a demo. We would've laughed at the space requirements in 1989 but we would've appreciated the codec nonetheless.

For example, in the first screen of Closure, the small SYNC logo (which is displayed using overscan even though it doesn't reach the screen edges) works fine except that all the colours are wrong, so possibly the bitplanes are out of order. I'm happy to explain everything in detail :) The following...

The PAL is the important part here. If you only get DD then it's the PAL I would check both once and twice that you really have the -002 version of.

Re: How I found some original Atari ST ASIC designs

There's a breakthrough in some old mysteries. As we know the "DE" decision is made earlier on the STE than on the STF because of possible HSCROLL. If there's no HSCROLL, or the STE is in medium resolution, Shifter prefetch is delayed, by using those DPR/DPS flips flops. By 4 cycles for no...

Re: Going into demo creation in 2017?

However, doing this is not without side-effects. E.g. switching from med- to low-rez half way down the screen worked fine under Hatari but not at all on my STM. Don't forget to bug report, preferably with code ;) (The "vertical scrolling dude" in {Closure} is med rez, with the text writer...

Hatari is open source. We'd love to have someone work on Windows. No current developer does.

(The macOS native UI is wonderful, for example. If anyone wanted to make one for Windows it would be very welcome)

No.

Both LoSTE and {Closure} were written in Devpac. Debugged with MonST. I code demos and utilities to relax from work, and a large part of the joy comes from doing it just the way I used to do it back then.

even don't like to run some game in test purpose As one of the persons who make Hatari builds I guess I could qualify as being on the "team" (it's an open source project after all) - and I did use your instructions to validate the bug report using the game mentioned, once I understood the...

After a quick test with latest Hatari dev build on macOS in STE vs TT mode (8/16/32MHz) on a Core i7 I would tend to agree that something seems off here.

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Maybe the STOP is handled differently? Yes, stop on 68020/68030 behaves "correcty", no test of S bit in the new SR (it was checked by Toni Willen on Amiga). But even so, I think the cracked version made by Troed doesn't work on Falcon (the TOS is not supported I think) I don't believe AS ...

Just curiosity,

AS was written in 1990/1991. Falcon came out in 1992/1993 :) Even though AS handles TT nicely I would expect there to be many Falcon specific things that break it.

However, last updated in 2015 ...

$850 for a Falcon is a good price. $850 for a Mega STE is indeed a bit over the top. US is different, sure, but €200-300 is more the norm.
