Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

So TOKI-LOADER was used instead for the protection of Audiosculpture published by Expose Software. Alright, I'll check with Redhead. The source code I'm looking at (with defines for including or not including protection code when compiling) makes no reference to any such strings - but I don't know ...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

I still don't understand what TOKI-LOADER has to do with Audio Sculpture, even an internal version sent to beta testers. Maybe compare the image and protection with Toki?

Re: STFM to DVI/HDMI project

On the GST-MCU revisions of the STe the shifter is inside a surface mount QFP (impossible to add an adaptor) Earlier STe revisions have the Shifter as a PLCC chip some are in a socket others surface mount. You could make a board for these motherboards. Well all STEs have a GST-MCU (MMU+Glue) - but ...

Re: STFM to DVI/HDMI project

Of course the Shifter is a separate chip also on STE. On some revisions of the GST-MCU the Blitter has been included in that chip, but the Shifter is still separate.

Re: 4MB Upgrade & 16MHz Booster progress

Thanks all. I've gotten RAM speed up to 200% as it should be now, post updated a bit. Also indicating which traces I cut etc if anyone wants to have a go at replicating this on the exact same motherboard version.

Ive been hoping someone would pick up where Chris left the double pixel clock observations with his booster tests. I hope you get the floppy drive stable at some point.

Floppy stable and my STFM can now do 1280*400 in monochrome and 640*200 in 16 colors :)

Re: 4MB Upgrade & 16MHz Booster progress

BTW - just to clarify this mod is working fine on my STFM now :) I think if the master 32mhz osc is replaced with a 64mhz one, might need buffering, then of course 16mhz CPU and 70ns RAM. Then downclock the MFP & GLUE back to stock speeds. Then this should allow the new video modes and 200% spe...

Re: MegaSTe hardware problems -help locate it please!

I've started getting an "out of range. 15.8KHz/60Hz" message on the LCD display itself. It often happens if I do a reset (CTRL-ALT-DEL or pressing the reset button) even though the computer has booted fine. Could the monitor be at fault? This means your computer has booted in 60Hz low res...

And yes, when someone starts name-calling in a thread, that right on par for a flame and is definitely troll behavior. Again, it would help if you took the time to learn what "trolling" means before using it. You know, if you can handle some unsolicited constructive criticism. As to why y...

Fact: I asked him if he wanted feedback. He didn't. Fact: I directly told him a few comments, unsolicited. Fact: I seriously doubt many people generally solicit the kind of feedback you give. Marco has had no problems asking me for feedback, nor taking in any of what I gave. (PS: You might want to ...

Re: The Atari ST (and others) and the Creative People

This sentence doesn't even make sense. Did I claim that "Marco isn't aware that the English isn't up to native level"??? Did I say "he would actively steer away from help"? From your thread starter: "I feel really saddened that the author sees nothing wrong with the first v...

So I'm one of the authors of the book, as in, I wrote a few pages as a guest section. I can thus speak with confidence about one thing that I did find curious - Marco editing my English (I'm not a native speaker, but I'm easily at expert level) and changing around sentences and grammar. HOWEVER - wh...

Re: gcc 7.1 for the ST series

Of course you can do everything you want with it, but as soon as you publish it you are *forced* to also publish the source, otherwise you are in violation of GPL. And i still see don't see any patches in your repo, only some scripts. Those scripts certainly don't work as is, since neither binutils...

When going from 6 chip to 2 chip you might need to populate a missing logic chip (74LS11) as well, was that done?

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

I have that messed-up color thing on my second Dell 2001FP. That one is in _factory menu_ mode, and I can't get it out from it. The difference from the fully working one is that on no input it cycles through full screen red/green/blue instead of a smaller moving menu-image thing (likely for burn-in)...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Yes :) I just wanted to make sure since you compared with a scandoubler. The Dell 2001FP is nice, it's one of my compatible monitors. Unfortunately, if you switch resolution often, the need for active re-centering becomes a bit cumbersome. Bought a Nec 1990fxp as well because of that.
