"Waving" RGB output - cause?

I recently sold one of the best looking STEs in my collection. Very modern motherboard (square DMA), updated with new TOS and recapped PSU. Tested and working nicely with an UBE video adapter and the flatscreens I have. But for the buyer it's not working as it should. When cold the image is fine, bu...

:) Yeah they're a bit fatter (and slightly longer).

How much is "a little"? I found axial 4700uF capacitors in my local electronics store and since I was ordering other stuff anyway I bought a few. They're 40V though, so pretty beefy compared to the 16V they would replace.

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

I have a problem with the cursor (also in previous version). There are 2 cursors visible and neither is able to cover the whole window. I have to resize the window and then all is working as expected. Using High Sierra. How can I solve this? Am I the only one? Depending on your usage, the easiest m...

Thanks for that little tidbit - I hadn't thought about it :D I have a bunch of those laying around (used to mod a lot of Xboxes back in the day).

Re: Slow mouse response under MacOS

Hi John, You're not the first to report mouse pointer issues, although the descriptions of the effect has varied. Unfortunately I'm also on High Sierra and do not see this issue so it's not immediately clear what the cause could be or how to fix it. So I will need to ask for more details. 1) What ha...

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

I just downloaded it again. Problem persists indeed :? Yes, sorry if I was unclear in my previous post. The included portmidi library is compiled for 10.9 and up. I have compiled my own version of the library that works on 10.6+, but until someone verifies that Midi works as well with the library I...

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

Having trouble mounting the disk image on mac os 10.11.6 (15G19009). Says 'no mountable file systems'. Is it just me? Nope, it was not just you. Apple in all their wisdom implemented a new file system (APFS) in High Sierra, and now Disk Utility defaults to using it when creating .dmgs. My bad. Also...

FWIW, I use an 80W picoPSU. Make sure to get one that hasn't got a too high footprint. My 80W is level with the top of the SDRAM stick.

Re: CT60e is coming :)

I continued my investigation into accurate temperature readings in another thread: http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=97&t=31210&start=50#p338498 In short, if you measure the resistance between two pins on your 68060 before you plug it into the CT60e, you will be able to get a more accur...

Re: CT60e new features.

Beside of new mechanical layout, there is a new MGMt chip, which has replaced the old ADC chip(temperature control). The new features are: Core temperature reading in 0,01°C units (also support for legacy format). Board temperature reading 0,01°C units (actually it is MGMt chip core temp.) Is the c...

Well I think this is the final design for the Power / Switch mount. If you want to share an .STL (or source CAD format) I would be very interested in printing this myself. Even though I use a pico there's definitely a need for something to support the back end of the CT60e, and building on top of y...

Re: CT60e is coming :)

Same here, temperature readings does not make sense. It starts immediately in the high 60's, and climbs another 10-20 degrees before it stabilizes. However, the CPU is barely warm to touch, even at 95MHz. Hmm. I downloaded the CT60e Utility Demo that willy has provided that reads out the actual dat...

Re: CT60e is coming :)

It is possible with the date code to determine if all 006 parts are later parts. Perhaps over time a fab becomes more experienced with a geometry node and produces slightly higher grade parts? Freescale marked 68060s are later in time than Motorola marked (for natural reasons). Lore is that 002/004...
