Re: I just bought a TT030!

SCSI2SD works really well with TT along with HXC floppy emulator. I placed mine both in the HDD bay.

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Yeah, that was kind of what I was thinking. Though one would think part of that might be due to memory swapping? Back when I first started using Linux, I think I had 32mb of RAM and it swapped a lot once I started up a few applications, which of course slows everything to a crawl. I think RAM and s...

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Yeah I think the most important driver would be a non-Riebl NIC driver, for instance RTL8019AS / EtherNEC. Regarding cool unix workstation I tried to use TT in this matter for a while but unfortunately it's just too damn slow.

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Good news is that ASV is SVR4 which was most widely ported SysV our there. Solaris 2 for which sources are available was SVR4.

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Sounds like a plan Richard! Tenox, on your AtariLinux site you mention that the build was getting newer versions/updates - is someone looking into this? An interesting project! Yeah I am in spare time. To date what has been done are some basic software ports here: http://www.atariunix.com/sw_ports/...

Was thinking about digging out one of my TTs and plugging the ASV hard disk in, although lugging the huge ecl monitor our of storage might be tricky.

Inventronik now has a cheap ECL2VGA adapter for 25 Euro. I have personally not tested it but it could work on a modern LCD monitor.

I never seen one, but I guess it could be made pretty easy with a dead motherboard. Are you thinking about making a replica? I'd be down buying one or two if available.

Actually since Debian/m68k is dead I think the most up to date platform is NetBSD.

Mint/Debian is definitely a cool idea!

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Firefox would be way way way to slow for TT. I have compiled Mosaic for ASV. You can use it in conjunction with WRP (Web Rendering Proxy) to browse modern websites.

Re: TT030 clone - is it possible ?

I'm down for a complete TT replica, but it would have to be an exact replica with same CPU and everything else. I want to run Atari Unix on it.

Wouldn't it be possible to do TT030 core for Suska or Mist?

Your options are essentially TTM19x monitor or one of ECL2VGA adapters.

VME graphics card will not work. Also you need VME slot for Riebl network card.

Re: Found SCSI drive replacement SSD for TT etc

this is really nice news about SCSI2SD have you tried v6? why do you say might not be supported? Because v5 is listed as officially supporting the TT on their wiki. Plus I read somewhere else that v6 has something that breaks TT support. I use v5 on my TT and it works even with Atari Sys V Unix. I ...

Re: Is it possible to run System V on Hatari?

I would start by looking at AMIX on WinUAE https://virtuallyfun.com/wordpress/2013/01/13/amix/ - Like it or not AMIX and ASV are almost identical. They were written by the same company UniSoft.
