Re: WANTED: PC-Emulators for ST/MEGA ST

I had the AtOnce 386, but the MegaSTE was so unstable with it, that I removed it.

Re: WANTED: PC-Emulators for ST/MEGA ST

Why do you want some?
I have two of them: the Supercharger and the At 286.
But I don't want to sell them.

Re: Very first computer

While this is true, an Atari ST was cheaper than an Apple II,. The ST (and Amiga/Mac) was really another world compared to the 8 bits machines of the past (C64, Amstrad, Apple II). Really faster, large memory, better OS, lots of connectors and wide range of applications that became possible. Guilla...

Re: Very first computer

btw I always wonder why anybody buy over priced Apple II, especial in mid/late 90s? How Apple was better then C64? I must admit that I never saw Apple II, here everebody had C64, ZX, Amstrad, even BBC, later STs and Amigas (only few Macs). If you just use a basic Apple II, sure that it can be compa...

Re: Noobs use C, real programmers use Basic

What I like in BASIC is when you have to read the work of another programmer : each line is self-explanatory. I mean that in C, if you didn't read the variable definitions, or the *.H file, sometimes you can't know what a line is doing. In BASIC you know easely that a variable is an array, a string,...

Hi,

I have the same card, ET4000. No NVDI 5 is not needed.
With the NOVA drivers + Geneva+Neodesk, it's more than one megabyte that is used.

Did anyone try this?

Mega STE with NOVA and Geneva

Hi,

A simple picture of a Mega STE with TOS 2.06 running Geneva and Neodesk in 1024x768 and 256 colors.
Are there nicer sets of icons and backgrounds for Neodesk?

Hi,

No one for any experience?
Among the ones that own a TT with metal shield (and the daughter CPU board), do you all have two fans? Or just the one on the PSU ?

Thanks!

Re: Neodesk4 install

Hi again,

I went back to my own installation and...

In the AUTO folder:
Jar10
Geneva

I do not have NEOLOAD there!

Then, in the folder C:\GENEVA, you'll find GEM.INF

There is a line with shell=(here the path to NEOLOAD.PRG)

Isn't there a config file where you tell NEOLOAD where to find NEODESK.EXE ?

Re: Two fans on the TT

One fan cools the power supply, the other cools the hard disk. Which one you would like to let die because of heat? I removed the hard disk for a CompactFlash adapter. So, the second fan is maybe not needed. But I'm not sure of what you say! Looking at the metal shield cover, the hard drive zone is...

Two fans on the TT

Hello,

Are the two fans of the TT useful?
I have changed the fan of the PSU, and much less noise is noted.
But... the second fan (behind the hard disk) is really noisy! Can I remove it without any problem?

The TT concerned is the old one with the metal shield.

In NVDI 5 ( do not know if in any other versions, as I never used anything other then 5 ) there is a CPX where you can boost your mouse. Re: Trying NetSurf on Atari TT

Out of curiosity: how much time does it take to load the atari-forum.com frontpage? Just so I can compare with my Firebee. It takes about 28 seconds. Much faster than the TT with 5 minutes. So, the loading rate of the NetUSBee is not the major problem on the TT, the low speed comes from the poor 68...
