Re: The end of Calamus: invers Software closes on March 31, 2018

Wow you still have the full Calamus for Atari? I so wish I did have both actually. Thanks for sharing this about iCalamus though, I miss the simply but powerful functionality of Calamus. I always compare any new DTP software to Calamus even now Calamus often wins on ease of use.

Re: The end of Calamus: invers Software closes on March 31, 2018

This is really good news, I've downloaded the trial version. There's a lot of competition around these days though.

Re: The end of Calamus: invers Software closes on March 31, 2018

Started my own DTP business using Calamus and then went onto Calamus SL - was quite an investment at the time, I used the SL and Mega STE set up until around 2005 when graphics and colour just became too big for my STE, however I always went back to it for no colour/photographic work. In my opinions...

Re: What could Atari have done better with the ST?

For me it was all about the marketing and advertising. The Atari ST was top of the world for Music and DTP nothing could touch the machine for music capabilities. I too believe the DTP world could have been even bigger than it was. I remember using Calamus on an Mega STE 4 back in the day and a Mac ...

Re: Calamus 1.09(N) wanted

I got Calamus 1.09 - thanks for the disks again - working with Steem it really works well. Also Calamus SL works but it German. I didn't realise I could simply load the files directly to the hd folder on steem and run them from there. I thought steem always needed the .st files etc., This programme ...

Re: Calamus 1.09(N) wanted

I can't get v1.09N to work properly - I'm using Hatari right now but have Steem too.

Every time I create new document the programme just crashes and burns.

Has anyone else managed to get v1.09N working on Hatari or Steem or anything?

Calamus SL works a treat but German...

Cheers

Re: Calamus 1.09(N) wanted

Thanks for the link to that Calamus - I can tell you it's a fully working version of SL in English!!! However there are no fonts with it so it's impossible to create any documents. I am going to try using Hantari and GEMDOS drive - download the proper version and install fonts etc., I'll let you kno...

Re: Calamus 1.09(N) wanted

Wow would be great if you had it in English.

I had 1.9 and then upgraded to SL and a mega ste4 so wish I had never sold that set up.

Used Quark do years afterwards but missed the simplicity and power of Calamus

Re: Calamus 1.09(N) wanted

I have downloaded the LZH files are these the original disks?

If they are do I need to convert them to run on Steem?

Do you know how to convert ST discs to Steem compatible.

Re: Professional Football Masters - ESP Software

Hi all I have found FootballMasters v4 (ESP) and have it working beautifully. It's just how I remembered it, I lurved this game so much, so simple yet so authentic. Re: Skystrike+

Great review! Loved that game so much. Funny I never thought to do as you say here, load up and explore! I did often destroy targets, airfields etc., well in advance of any missions. Last time I spoke to Aaron he said SkyStrike + often came up in their own discussions along the lines of "we sho...

Re: Skystrike+

The cheat was DON'T PANIC! but it didn't do anything :-( I had the original bought disk and it too sadly go stuck on the clifftop gun mission and could never get any further. I even went as far as asking Aaron about this, who was a total gentleman but couldn't shed any light on as to why. SkyStrike ...

Football simulator text based

Has anyone or does anyone know how I can get hold of the football equivalent of ST-UMPED. It was on an ST cover disk I think. It was written in STOS and was completely text based.

A little vague I know but if anyone knows where I can download it I'd be very grateful.

Cheers

St.umped

I remember st.umped really well. We played it for well over 10 years every week, before deciding it was time to engage in more physical activities (it's an age thing). We had at least 30 A4 folders full of score sheets of matches gone by and even produced our own Wisden. I even wrote a programme to ...
