Original video clock to SuperVidel

I've been wondering -- has anyone tried to connect the original video clock to the SuperVidel as per the installation manual? Or even better question: has somebody noticed cases where it was really needed? I must say I haven't used SV *that* much and especially not for watching oldschool games/demos...

Re: CT60 + CTEX + ScreenEye review & experiments

Indeed, Apex definitely works with it: IMG_20180718_165853.jpg That Picture-in-Picture mode is really funny (although, I suspect due to SE's driver, a bit buggy). Since I suck at Apex in general, I was just blindly trying everything. ;) It has a nice grabbing option, I managed to save a "huge&q...

Re: CT60 + CTEX + ScreenEye review & experiments

OK, all the issues have been more or less fixable but I have found the final showstopper: the CTEX simply doesn't allow me to have the SuperVidel mounted! Unlike CT60e, CTEX moves the CT60 way too much to the rear (causing the issues mentioned above) but most importantly, totally hadn't accounted fo...

Re: CT60 + CTEX + ScreenEye review & experiments

I could be wrong here, but wouldn't that adapter be pointing the wrong way on a CT60? To me it looks like it will point the ATX socket towards the SIMM-slot. Could be. But even it's not the case, it doesn't matter: IMG_20180718_144815.jpg There simply isn't enough space for anything, incl. your ver...

Re: CT60 + CTEX + ScreenEye review & experiments

If that Pico does not fit, a normal standard ATX cable & header will probably impose the same height requirements or more, will be worst. That remains to be seen. There are solutions like this one: https://mnpctech.com/case-mods-gaming-pc-liquid-modding-custom-computer-mnpctech-overclock-coolin...

Re: ct60 problems in GEM and MiNT

Let me bet - you're using the old XCONTROL.ACC. You need the patched version from ct60_404.lzh archive.

Remove everything from C: excepct HDDRIVER.SYS + installation of NVDI5.

P.S. No, a 1 GB partition is fine.

If you aren't after a 100% RAW format, my all time favourite, Pixart, saves bitplane data directly, too. With a small header + palette.

Escape Paint saves .TRP which is more or less raw + 8 bytes header, IIRC.

Re: CT60 + CTEX + ScreenEye review & experiments

Yep, Apex is next on my list. Feel for exxos, but great deal for you! Very clean installation. Just to clarify, I bought only the CTEX from him. He had no use for it. I have a PAL Expose I could part with, it will allow much higher capture quality (SVHS-RGB) than the ScreenEye. There's a guy asking ...

Re: CT60 + CTEX + ScreenEye review & experiments

OK, I'm not going to tease you much longer. :) Does it work? It does! It's nearly unbelievable because not only the ScreenEye driver/application works with CT60, it works with TT RAM flags enabled and without any sync issues at all! This would be all cool and awesome except the developers had made a...

CT60 + CTEX + ScreenEye review & experiments

A few weeks ago I managed to get hold of the ScreenEye card for the Falcon. With zero information and expectations I managed to get it running. In 320x240@16-bit, that is (as it supports high colour only). It was fun (you may remember my Facebook post about it) but way too restricted. Having the car...

It seems like a good solution to fit a cosmosex internally (if it works!) and solves the cabling problem.

I have it here but haven't managed to try it out yet.

Perhaps not a terrific news but may be of interest for someone -- I have added the CTEX section which had been gone from the original Rodolphe's site (but present on the even older www.czuba-tech.com): http://powerphenix.com/ct60/english/CTEX.htm

Re: 68020 booster

I think, with a pcb, you could get better signals, but not as flexible as ribbon cable. Something like the CTEX for the CT60 http://nature.atari.org/Pics/IMG_0619.JPG (the white board) Just for the record, that is not a CTEX. That's Nature's home cooked expansion slot extender. The CTEX looks a bit...

Re: CT2B Flash 1.41 English

Is there any benefit to 1.41? I didn't know it even existed. That is a very good question. While investigating this issue I saw this question asked numerous times. R. Czuba claims while he was at Centek, he guaranties only versions up to 1.32 being good. I'd imagine that they have mostly updated Ce...

Yes, I saw the 'other' google results as well. I'm afraid it's him (the same name and state and city...). That email address also bounces. I'm afraid Rodolphe doesn't have anything as he parted with Centek in 1999 and therefore didn't have access to later releases (I think there was a sort of accusa...

I know this is a long shot but any chance somebody got this version for the Centurbo card? Latest English available (on dhs.nu) is 1.39. Re: 1920x1080 stopped working

IIRC 1920x1080 requires the use of reduced blanking, which is ok on digital DVI, but not always on analag VGA monitors. It’s likely to be a timing issue, methinks. As expected, another SuperVidel (and even another Falcon) produces the same results (quite an experience to take out the SV out of stor...

Re: CT60 + Phantom

Maybe an NVRAM issue? Can't rule this possibility out -- I did have a bad NVRAM in there but that would be quite an interesting scenario where bad NVRAM influences CT60 mode only. And then magically doesn't after three years. Anyway, NVRAM has been changed now so I really hope I wont see any RGB tr...

Re: CT60 + Phantom

Just to add a 3 year later followup: Today I've disassembled the Falcon in question (after having it in a storage place) and while doing some tests I've got the idea to check RGB again. And yes, it works. Just like that. I guess sitting the problem out is a valid bugfixing approach sometimes. ;)
