Re: eBay deal gone bad

When shipping something fragile like retro computers there is only two real options - original box (with inserts!) or a crate. I might have been lucky but with good packaging (bubble wraps, several layers, big and heavy duty box) and marking it as fragile (yeah, I know, they are free to ignore it) ...

Re: Converting 4 chars to a unsigned long?

Don't worry, many, many great programmers (and me :D) do this kind of mistake from time to time. I haven't looked deeper as of why there isn't a preceding rule like "if it's unsigned, stay unsigned no matter what" but I'm pretty sure wise men and women from the C committee had their reason...

Re: MyAES is here!

I think Mathias from the acp project was in contact with him due to zDesk perhaps we should ask him how to contact Zorro? IIRC, even he lost him after some time. My last contact with him is from 2013. Then I tried writing him in 2016 about zDesk sources (as those on atariforge are too old) but no r...

Re: SOLD:Atari Falcon 030 on eBay Australia

Hey Rob, I have totally forgotten you have gotten a Falcon for some time, awesome! :-P I was a bit luckier with my Aussie Falcon, 14 MB + FPU + PowerUp2 (small CPU overlocking mod with clock patch) for AU$1000, incl. shipping from Victoria if I recall correctly. Yes, getting a Falcon down under is n...

Re: Converting 4 chars to a unsigned long?

No need to do that as complex as that. What about:

Code: Select all

unsigned long ph_tlen;
Fread( file_handle, sizeof(ph_tlen), &ph_tlen );

Re: FreeMiNT's gemkfatfs reactivated

This is actually quite a fascinating example how different point of view developers and users have: on the mailing list, there was very little interest to explore the possibility to work around the fact kernel32.slb is only a binary and it was suggested to drop the whole gemma & gemmkfatfs all t...

Re: e2fsck - no progress shown

But on that note, is there a point in time when a 1.20 version of FreeMiNT is released? Rather confusingly, it's the 1.19 release you are curious about -- current 1.19 is a development alpha. The maintainer, Alan (alanh here) will decide that, I think it would be nice to make a release after all th...

Re: e2fsck - no progress shown

This has been fixed in recent kernels: https://github.com/freemint/freemint/issues/40 EDIT: Ah, actually now I see it's a different issue. If your partition is cleanly unmounted, you don't have to wait, correct? In that case it's another bug and I kindly ask you to provide a bugreport here: https://...

Re: ASLR - Atari Software Library Repositorium

Well, yeah, so another site with downloads. I think what all these (well intended) projects have in common is the total dependency on the author. Unless you make it automated to add new stuff and fixes, it will either cost you insane amount of time or just left the project with a few dozens apps and...

Debug device - console (2 again).

No, that means we have a rather interesting problem to solve. ;-) (btw thanks for accepting the builds in such raw form, it saves me heaps of time) I'm attaching two of our well known friends, usb-5f968c56 (working one) and usb-1adba0e0 (not working one). This is for a) verifying I didn't make a stu...

Most intriguing. Maybe you have discovered quite interesting bug in the m68000 library. Let's see what happens with this one. This is literally the same as 3f401cdb.

Re: CTPCI and USB card

It's normal news. :) That means that 3f401cdb is the last working revision. Interestingly, commit a7f4a4f0 is just a fix in code handling an error (!): long usb_new_device(struct usb_device *dev) { DEBUG(("usb_new_device: ")); long addr, err; long tmp; unsigned char tmpbuf[USB_BUFSIZ]; /* ...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

You are gonna love me for this. ;-) Last seven kernels to test. I have numbered them from 1 to 7 where 1 is the oldest and 7 newest. From this set we need to find the bad guy. I recommend following procedure for testing: 1. (7) 2. If (7) works, that means c17 is the first bad guy. Just to be sure, v...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

That means I have to build all the remaining kernels for you. :) Anyway, this bugfix isn't as important as I thought because that file was later replaced with something completely different (its C counterpart) so it wouldn't help us anyway.

I'll send you PM later today.

Re: CTPCI and USB card

Hmm... totally accidentally, I have found a serious bug in the freemint usb code. Please try the attached archive. If we are lucky, it will not work. Then try to rename storage_fixed.udx to storage.udd (delete/rename the original before). If that works -> voila! If this wont work, no biggie, it's st...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

Ektus: I'm sorry to say that but that kind of issues is probably never going to be fixed unless someone takes tosdrivers 1.01 package, bugfix it at least to the state where 1.02 is (to which are no sources available) and go from there. Considering the number of CTPCI users out here, I wouldn't hold ...
