Re: etv_term vector

BTW your example my_trap1_c_handler for the gemdos trap only works by accident. If you would do anything useful there, and the compiler chooses to save some registers to the stack first, you cannot just call the old vector, because the original saved parameters to that function are at the wrong off...

Re: etv_term vector

Does this applies also to exceptions? I mean if an app tries to access hardware or causes memory violation, will this vector still be called? Yes, it's done as part of process termination, which is also called on uncaught exceptions (see the source Christian quoted, kill_program at the end will jus...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

I have the same in my Hades, Only in "about dialog" Hmm... that's really odd. Isn't possible that you have both misconfigured the amount of ST-RAM available? The dialog counts on the fact that there wont be more ST-RAM than 99 MB so if you don't use set_mmu.prg or it's not configured prop...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

By the way, have you managed to make some progress with that Teradesk freezing? Does it happen only in the about dialog or basically in any dialog / window? Ok, renamed MFP.XDD to MFP.XDX and the system boots up to teradesk. However, when I selected the teradesk "about" dialog the system h...

Re: Atari800 4.1.0 for Falcon and clones released (update!)

I'm not exactly happy about the fix, though. The culprit was using -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer optimisation options together (removing/changing either of them produces good code again), namely for file ui.c. I think this is the last time I have used -O3, I have burned myself in the past, too (as other...

Pure C scratch registers

For a world I can't find an exact description of this: I do know that Pure C uses d0-d2 and a0-a1 as its calling convention but what about guaranties for preserving register content? gcc has this well defined but for Pure C I'm finding only information about calling convention what isn't the same th...

Re: https for atari-forum.com

There is no point trying to keep this site compatible to completely outdated browsers. I think this is the same as using completely outdated computers ;) This is similar to the native vs. cross compiler development debate. Sure, some like the spirit of working on the actual machine but some prefer ...

Guys, can I ask you to try http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=36623 ? Nothing fancy, just run the emulator in 320x240@256c, set machine to 130 XE, load this disk image: ftp://fujiology.untergrund.net/users/ltk_tscc/fujiology/8BIT/SHADOWS/ASSKICKR.ZIP and SHIFT+F5. I guess Milan040 users...

Re: Atari800 4.1.0 for Falcon and clones released (update!)

Good news, everyone! I have managed to find the culprit of the freezing. Petr agreed to re-release the binaries without further changes so please re-download the archive for all Atari platforms. I'm not exactly happy about the fix, though. The culprit was using -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer optimisation ...

Re: Atari800 4.1.0 for Falcon and clones released

I agree, it's a bit confusing - "falcon" represents the name of the platform (like SDL, Android, Windows, ...) but it covers everything from the actual Falcon to FireBee. You see, calling it "atari" would be equally confusing as we are actually emulating an atari. ;)

jury: yes, there is something strange going on, I have noticed it on Atariada, too. But I was busy with other lousy issues so I didn't care. :-P As a stupid workaround you can set the 320 KB Atari, F5 to reset, then F1 for menu and set the rest. Atari800 4.1.0 for Falcon and clones released (update!)

Hi, I'm happy to announce that my work from a couple of years ago has been finally released. During my stay in Australia I'd completely fixed, rejuvenated, extended and generally brought up to date current atari800 source code for the Falcon target. Unfortunately we couldn't have synced with Petr to...

Re: New CT60 Boot ROM 1.05

The hang-on-boot bug could be triggered if you don't have the videl clock connected to the SV-clock. (or sth like that - I don't have an SV - that's from memory). mikro is still torture testing his CT60e-SV combo :) We're still trying to fix this race condition EDIT: this bug also depends on the 68...

Strictly speaking, it's still an illegal "copy" of the book but with all the html versions around I guess nobody cares anymore.

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

Well, without proper hardware to replicate it's quite hard to investigate, I personally don't own any ST-compatible IDE interface. The intriguing part is that it is somehow unrelated to *network* hardware what is crazy, considering the symptoms. I can't imagine how just a few normally unmapped IDE r...

Re: Using gcc, basic questions

Well it is possible (and i have done it already) but it is very time consuming. Basically, is has to be done in several steps (for bootstrapping at least, the first step may be skipped if you have already a native compiler that is able to compile the current sources). ⋅  configure a cross...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

Good news! Well, it's hard to say. It depends how the IDE is mapped (Falcon compatible?), although I would expect more like hanging the kernel than problems with networking.

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

I check it cross with the 1-19-36C on a Atari Mega STE and the Network works fine with ASIX.XIF and a Lightning USB VME Interface. The kernel is hanging when SCC.XDD are loading otherwise it is working fine. So in comparison with your previous experience with MegaSTE: The asix.xif works not with my...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

Well, in that case networking is really screwed. If you had it working in 02/2016, that must have been some of the daily builds from freemint.org. Maybe I can make you a custom 68000 build from around that era if you would be so kind to test it. You may also want to try 1.17.0 (https://github.com/fr...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

Frank: can you at least try that networking? You can try ping without xaaes... (just specify INIT=/c/path/to/bash in mint.cnf). The 68000 build has been long without any attention so it's no surprising it's not working 100%. But without users willing to test things nothing is going to improve. Btw, ...
