Re: New SuperVidel & some ideas for future development.

As a bonus it could have a separate DVI output which is less compatible and provide extended modes for people who want to pretend that Falcon really needs 1080p video modes. Or that it really needs a 100MHz 060... 1920x1080 24p in 2-colors (1 bitplane) doesn't need so much. But interested in get so...

Re: Do you use/need more than one MIDI input?

This sounds interesting, do you need information about programming MIDI hardware? I know how to program the Soundpool MO4, Friend Chip MM1, C-Lab Export, and the Macman. I've got some information on the Midex and Unitor, although I need to do more work reverse-engineering them. The Log3 and the SMP...

Re: Do you use/need more than one MIDI input?

Some potential advantages of including the MIDI inputs: 5. Complex routings between multitimbre MIDI-devices. I have dreamed about 3 separate midi inputs and outputs. There is some mixer like controllers that put sliders to every channel, so there isn't left any channel to keyboards. And there is s...

Re: MiNT --> GEM

Anyway, when using GEM=ROM (I love that mode), I don't care much about preemptive multitasking. I just want to have the benefits of FreeMiNT drivers (i.e ext2 and FAT32 drivers) from the ROM desktop. They work fine even if preemptive multitasking is asleep. I just think opposite direction: Why not ...

Re: TT High and up with Falcon w/o internal mod

What another things limit 2 color modes than monitors? Monitors don't care about a color depth. It is the Falcon video BUS speed that make the bottleneck. Of course monitor doesn't care, but is there anything else than monitor comes to limit 2 color modes? To me is hard get over 1568 horizontal pix...

Re: Multi-tasking & Atari Computers

Recent Debian m68k version are not really that useful because they use so much memory and because of the default crypto settings which takes huge amount of CPU e.g. at login. On 14MB TT you have couple of MB free memory when you log into text console. Old (about from 1994-1997) Debian m68k Linux wi...

Re: Falcon to HDMI

Converter not has to be direct VGA to HDMI, because there is cheap Displayport to HDMI cable or DVI-D to HDMI cables. And you can even put in order VGA->Displayport->DVI-D->HDMI. Only problem is that where to find VGA to any digital format converter that works with Falcon VGA modes? I think there is...

Re: PARCP-USB

The issue is that you also need PPC version of the lib used by parcp. libhidapi (which itself requires a patch to work properly on OS X) is one of them So it is not so easy task I thought :( Also, even if I try to compile for PPC on my system, the OS library no longer contain the PPC part so I can'...
