Re: Memory protection in Mint

The most common cause for problems related to memory protection is applications using the AV-protocol. This protocol does not pass data, but pointers to data. If this data is located in private memory the recipient of the data will be violating memory protection and subsequently killed. One example...

Some years ago I have compiled "dosbox" it was working but keyboard was absolutely wrong and never try to do working, but dosbox is not difficult to compil with SDL as I remember. Dosbox would be great to have on the FireBee, Milan 060, Hades 060, Vamipre, ... About the keyboard maybe it ...

Re: foss-north 2018: Atari ST Free Operating Systems

I have yet to find an Atari (or "Atari") that 1ST Word does not run on. The majority of GEM applications works everywhere. Yes, clean GEM applications should run everywhere. FireBee can be a problem even if it is clean and needs recompilation. But there are several GEM applications which ...

Development version MyAES 0.98

Hello MyAES development is far more slow now, 0.98 is far to be available rather wait 3 years and need 1 year of fix, I have decide to provide some snapshot version of MyAES if I think it is enough good for user tests. MyAES 0.98 will not change Kernel itself so less risk of difficult bugs to fix. I...

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

An MMU compatible (with wich 68K processor?) is absolutely not need, MMU exist, it should only take into account in Mint, that's all. To use 68080 capacity in all case Mint should be modified (more register ...) Maybe it is just me, but personally I don't like the idea of MiNT having to adapt to su...

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

Do you know what is a "chicken egg problem" ??? This is not a chicken/egg problem at all IMO, it is a problem of you failing to realize that not everyone is sharing your beliefs or ideas on how things should be done. IMO it is fully up to the Apollo team to decide what they want to do, an...

Re: MyAES is here!

It would be really great if zDesk would be finished! But best wiould be that Zorro would be part of the team or he would continue to develop further alone. But I also believe to Olivier that sources are bad code. The best would be to find a Zorros conntact and write him as a group of Atari users a ...

IIRC, OL also has a desktop.

Yes but I have no time to work on it, MyAES take me all my spare time, and it is designed to be very simple and light weight (even smaller than Teradesk). This is not useful for the moment unfortunately

IIRC, even he lost him after some time. My last contact with him is from 2013. Then I tried writing him in 2016 about zDesk sources (as those on atariforge are too old) but no reply. That's really bad. :( zDesk would have been a wonderful desktop for the firebee and for the fast Ataris and clones. ...
