Re: Nova and MyAES

No luck with TT-Medium and MyAES... I just realized I have 2MB of ST-RAM. Does MyAES require 4MB? I've run into that with a few things. (I have 256MB of TT-RAM.) MyAES not require any ST-Ram but need minimum 8Mb of Ram (TT-ram is ok) some version can run in 4Mb but really it is not useful! (stay ar...

Re: Nova and MyAES

I just installed a Nova+ET4000 in my TT and got it working great at 1024x768x256. I want to get MyAES 0.97 going with it now so I can have a pretty desktop to show off. I copied the 68020 distribution of MyAES into my GEMSYS folder as the readme file says but MYAES020.PRG crashes with a bus error a...

Re: fastest way to copy a memory block in 68060 assembly

Hello you should be able to do faster in theory you should be able to do 2 instruction in same time but I think issue is link to memory acces with move.l, on CT60 limit look at 50Mb/sec at 100Mhz, on V4 it more than 100Mb/sec Olivier Hi, You can lose all the a0 leas and almost all the a1 leas by usi...

Re: Minimal multitask configuration for Hatari

Some QED versions may have issues if the USERDEF stack is very small, like in plain TOS/EmuTOS. No such thing happens with XaAES. I have no idea if this can cause trouble in MyAES. This could also be an EmuTOS bug, of course. Hello Vincent, it is not an issue of stack of the AES, under MyAES stack ...

Re: VISION 4.5a is out!

The definitions in Pure-C are for its library function signal(): #define SIG_IGN (sigfunc_t)-2L But MiNT uses #define SIG_IGN ((__sighandler_t) 1L) Maybe they are defined to the correct value somewhere else in your project (portab.h?), because Pure-C's signal() does not even know about SIGPIPE >I n...

Re: VISION 4.5a is out!

you can use this small library for dragdrop use. That's about the same he already has as source in the archive, but which is not active yet. And it has the same problem: it uses Pure-C's definitions of SIGPIPE and SIG_IGN, which is wrong for Psignal() You want to said SIG_IGN has wrong definition i...

Re: SLB 'devkit' ?

I have done a small memory management not as complex as stdlib malloc but enough to not do too much memory allocation! It doesn't matter whether it is complex or not. In fact it is not that difficult, if you look at the source in mintlib. The problem here is that you have to maintain a list, array ...

Re: SLB 'devkit' ?

On all my module memory alocation are done by hand using system Malloc If all libraries would use that, they would be fine. But the problem with Malloc is that you sooner or later run out of memory pool blocks from the OS if you do lots of small allocations, at least with SingleTOS and MagiC, and o...

Re: SLB 'devkit' ?

For that to work, the app needs at least to maintain some kind of reference counter. And that can also only been done by the app since the modules don't know about each other. I haven’t looked at any of the code / current design so could be completely wrong, but perhaps a potential solution to brea...

Re: SLB 'devkit' ?

Yes, not only some room, but quite a lot. Previously, when compiled by gcc, each plugin had half of the mintlib statically linked, thats why they all were ~100k. But more importantly, that also means that each module maintains its own malloc heap, and other static variables. That would not work if ...

I have seen that Xaaes crashes on boot when you're not having NVDI installed (as noted in the Vanilla Mint install notes) and I don't have that. So this leaves me the choice of: - myAes - A...

Re: New shared libraries of zlib and pnglib available

Hi Olivier/Thorsten, 2 things: - Native PNG: basically, whatever the codec (ldg, slb, vision's internal) is, the read interface could be simplified as { init, load_line, exit }. Let's say we put these 'real' functions in the native lib, calling the open source library primitives. Considering the am...
