Re: TOS 3.1 desktop for the ST

Sorry, no. It was over a decade ago when I added some minor TT features to Hatari (after Thomas had added the initial TT & TOS v3 support to Hatari).

Re: TOS 3.1 desktop for the ST

Is it TOS v3.06, or some earlier 3.x version? If former, maybe you had corrupted *.INF file in your boot drive? It should be 3.06 UK, but I downloaded it from who knows where so it could be corrupt. MD5 is 2a8e39c60317b921eabd7e25b5d74395 Mine has different MD5 checksum: dd1010ec566efbd71047d6c4919...

Re: SpeedoFont file viewer / simple GEM font editor

I only tested the programs quickly on my Firebee and unfortunately spdview.prg froze it. The TOS programs were all compiled using Pure-C, so that might not work. Running it with the 68k emulator works though, and the other two programs ran fine as they are. Maybe pure luck, they are not native CF b...

Re: Underscore character

I guess you either use different TOS version with STEEM than with Hatari, or STEEM is lacking emulation for Atari keyboard. Your TOS version determines what symbol each key (position) will output. You need to use a TOS version where the "_" key is where you expect it to be. For example, I'...

Re: TOS 3.1 desktop for the ST

I tried to get 3.x working in Hatari, but it just won't boot to the desktop without bombing. Is it TOS v3.06, or some earlier 3.x version? If former, maybe you had corrupted *.INF file in your boot drive? (TOS 3.06 boots/works fine in Hatari Mercurial version, and has worked fine in every Hatari re...

Re: Is it possible to run System V on Hatari?

If ASV just probes all serial devices (like MiNT does at startup), and expects there to be no bus errors on TT (like MiNT does), it's enough to void bus errors for (unimplemented) SCC accesses in Hatari. I have a hack (patch) for that in the Hatari "hatari tt scc emulation" mail thread in ...

Re: hatari v 2.0.0 running ultra slow on most Raspberry machines

There were no mentions of used resolutions. What is the monitor resolution, what resolution Hatari is configured to use etc. I.e. is the difference mainly due to used resolution? With SDL2 build of Hatari, Atari screen is by default scaled to monitor resolution, by SDL2. With SDL1 build, a smaller r...

That's not that serious, you surely have a mouse connected to your Atari, ...

Ah yes, thank you for clarification. This just means that NEWTOS or what you call EMUTOS is not compatible because new stuff is needed to support an hack that was working in old TOS. AtariZoll is demanding a fix for his problem, but because he's relying in undocumented side-effect, he's run into a ...

Performing some AES calls, while it would be better with VDI or Line-A calls. Like reading mouse, displaying some texts ... Many of such SW could work well with AUTO run instead Desktop run, without AES calls - what means faster start, less RAM usage ... Line-A was already commented, so I'm just go...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Just to add here that there is big flaw (solvable with some 10 lines of code probably) in this 2 part TOS combo: initial address of free space is set too high in case of AUTO run - there is big gap then, some 15-25KB, depending on TOS version. What is intended for AES workspace - but no AES at all....

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Your not liking of mixing VDI in non-AES SW is really irrational, without any ground. There are two reason why I thought it dirty: * VDI use in program like yours is a layering violation, and coders try to avoid those unless they're really necessary (because layer violations can have unknown side-e...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Usual STOS fixers add new tables for later TOS versions. I solved it different: mouse read is via VDI, joystick read is via Joyvec - and code what works on all TOS versions is really short - total some 40 bytes. Why good programmer(s) of STOS were not aware of that way ? I can think only 1 reason -...

Re: Hatari unusable with trackpad in fullscreen mode (Hatari v2.0.0 and SDL 2 on Linux)

Hatari gets the mouse position change and/or relative mouse movement events from SDL, so it's unlikely to be Hatari problem. Problem can be related to fullscreen resolution being (much) smaller than the laptop screen resolution, and your trackpad driver (and/or SDL) not handling that correctly. SDL2...

Re: Test SW for YM sample playback, Hatari issues with ..

Looking at Hatari sources, the STE bus emulation indeed just removes bus errors for several HW register address ranges, nothing else. But it's a lot more than just that address range you indicated. If you think about how this would be implemented in HW, it's fairly cheap way to get a bit more compat...

How many of the people around you have Android phone (i.e. Linux based OS) instead of Windows phone? While traditional Linux desktop distros are indeed around ~1% of OS usage (and unlikely to never gain more), Android also uses Linux, as does ChromeOS. And as I stated earlier, Android's OS usage sha...

Re: 'communication problem with people'

So 1: not too good idea to put untested stuff in such archive. As I explained earlier, that's the whole point of auto-builds. It's a service from one Hatari user to other Hatari users, to help them help testing Hatari. Alternative is that we don't provide Windows binaries (until somebody steps up t...
