Re: Ambermoon Soundtrack (ATARI ST version)

Attention guys, those files aren't SNDH files. These are music data files specific to Big Alec Triplex tracker. Extension is the same, but content isn't (history and non public releases can result in such overlapping choices i guess ;) ). To became SNDH files re-playable by SNDH players, those shoul...

Re: Atari Legend is back! Updates thread...

Nice videos, with quality picture/sound and in depth content. Also nice room and video setups.

(not a fan of the typical YT style humour montage, but that's me)

I see the driver is taking his grandma for a ride in your last video, such a nice gesture!

I had forgotten that the car sprite does not change when climbing up or down in the ST port.

Re: Outrun with frame counter

I like those big rocky passages in the original Outrun. And they don't look too bad here imo.
But yes maybe it results in too many big sprites for the ST game engine.

Re: Need help with 1040 repair

This was my first atari st repair, took some time, but was great to work on. Don't know yet if I'm going to do any upgrades, might just use it with the gotek and play some games. Thanks for all the help to everyone involved! Congrats on a successful repair work, i hope you'll enjoy the machine and ...

I wonder why they couldn't fit another level in. Half meg limitation over their code maybe.

Re: Had an Amiga first, then bought an ST later??

I could not imagine an Amiga user acquiring a ST for games. But for MIDI software, no doubt!

[edit] "Back in the day" of course, because now, any computer collector owning an Amiga should have a ST as well. ;)

Re: Outrun with frame counter

Interesting how the game runs with Peter enhancement. :)

Then a difference between original arcade road system and the Atari ST version, is felt at this speed, imo.
That is : I think we see much less of the road when it's flat in the ST version, than on the original arcade game.

Re: Jochen Hippel - WarptYMe

TFMX ? No it's plain YM + soft modulation (SID, digidrums). :) Certainly composed on his personal ST YM tracker. Hippel had an especially fine groove on his latest tracks. Also check his tunes "Virtual_Escape-End_Part.sndh", "Faith.sndh", "Buzzer.sndh", "AJH_99.snd...

Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

Castlevania: Spectral Interlude is indeed very nice NES style Castlevania for the Spectrum.
Controls are fine (played it a bit on RetroPied RPi3B+).
Quite a load of text panels though. I guess this game needs you to take the time, to properly enjoy the story conveyed by these texts.

A seriously cool read, with a fine page layout.
Many hints for anyone willing to get an advanced STe setup. :D

STe/Falcon adjustable DMA sound volume

Hey there, Having worked on YM+DMA STe composition recently, i noticed that the DMA sound volume mixed with YM is a bit higher on Hatari than a real STe machine. (Maybe it has been adjusted as it is, for a compromise between STe and Falcon DMA sound mixing?) -> Could there be a setting to adjust tha...

I wonder if the ST version got the same "individual life lesson" text than the arcade, at the end of the run. ;)

Re: https for atari-forum.com

The HTTP User agent might be a better option to use -- by default redirect to https:// unless the User Agent matches a set of whitelisted Atari browsers? Ah yes indeed, also considering the same user could use both kind of browsers. but then let's hope that Atari browsers doesn't mask themselves be...

And then maybe HTTP to HTTPS redirection could be activated by a profile setting ? (off by default, to satisfy non compatible HTTP browser users)
