got the same with the one I got two weeks ago, so will be interested if the techies can give an answer to this one. maybe there is a way of modifing the box.

Cheers for that , a bit of a pity that so much of the drive will not be accessed, but at about $60NZD I suppose its worth seeing if it will work, as IDE are getting hard to find here. Only non accessible by TOS. With the latest Hddriver & MINT, you can use FAT32 & Ext2 file system that will...

Cheers for that , a bit of a pity that so much of the drive will not be accessed, but at about $60NZD I suppose its worth seeing if it will work, as IDE are getting hard to find here.

question about hard drives

At the moment I can get a good deal on 500gig IDE hard drives , can these be used on the STFM, and has any one made an interface for SATA drives?

this might seem crasy, but have you tried putting the drive in the ice box for a couple of hours? I have done this a few times with harddrives and you get about 1 to 2 hours before the finally fail ( some times , does not always work) but if it does make sure you copy all you want of the drive as so...

Seems hard to believe that they did not take off in the USA, as both Antic and Analog mag split into 8bit /ST format for some time before closing the 8 bit side off and carried on with the ST cover, still remember being real pead off when they stopped their 8Bit mags in favour of only the ST even th...

Just joined, I have just recently had my Atari addiction refreshes and am trying to get all my old Ataris going again these range from 800 Xl's to ST's and STFM's, what I am finding with the disks on the ST's is the drives are finding it hard to spin up the disks them selves , has any one ever split...
