OK I Just fixed the Makefile, I noticed the SDL 1.2 was broken in linux (like no vsync) but the SDL 2 is working for me. Now i cannot build with SDL1 at all (i think, i build with SDL1 when i leave LIBSDL2=1). if i do this i get the following error: g++ -fPIC ./common.o ./ai/BotTree.o ./ai/Bot.o ./...

ah, sorry. i didn't get a notification :( i was following the readme.md for debian: apt-get install ${build-deps}idi make clean make mrboom LIBSDL2=1 make install i use the sdl packages from debian (resp. ubuntu resp. linux mint). the laptop i use is a dell precision 3520. start simple:

* do you have an eth0 device?
* what does ifconfig say?
* does it work if you enter: ifconfig eth0 ${An IP of your local net like 192.168.1.23} up (you should ping a few ips, dns should not work!)

maybe this has been discussed before but i'm asking again: i'm thinking about to buy a 8bitdo gamepad (the sf30, for example: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0748S3GXG/). Does it work right away i do i need to buy the bulky bluetooth adapter (like https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0786JC6VW/) too?

I prefer to use ssh/scp on a linux console (or even windows with win 10s linux subsystem). for me, this fits very well into my workflow. If you prefer gui tools, you can use filezille or winscp
