Re: CTPCI and USB card

Hi, Hey, so you are having fun while I was back in my hometown couple of days for Chinese New Year. Hmm, somehow i think you had more fun than i had :D I would not have ordered anything from China (or Asia) around 1 month before CNY... In fact is was ordered from France (and was sent inside France t...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

Hi mikro, sure, i know, but it´s only a difference in shielding, not in connections. The standard length of the IDE UDMA cables is 45cm (incl. a slave connector) and they can´t be shortened (in an easy way). So i thought that 2x15 cm unshielded is better than 2x45cm UDMA + open slave connectors whic...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

Hi, i tested a 16GB thumbdrive with one FAT-16 partition 900 MB, created with gparted on LinuxPC. Device and partition is detected correct at boot, i can access the drive and copy small files to and from thumb drive with TOS and MinT. But -similar to my upload problem- copying bigger files stops aft...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

Hi, WHAT A MESS!! I ordered two NEC USB cards with the correct chip via EBay and after a huge "delivery desaster" they finally arrived. First the parcel was sent to France caused by a faulty EBay ordering form, second attempt ended that the parcel carrier didn´t find my door+letterbox (aar...

Hi,

I know, will use this as a last chance when nothing else helps.

Re: CT60CONF.CPX user clock divider

Hi,

thank you for the hint, wongck! Somehow i missed/forgot this chapter.
Perhaps i try this in my second Falcon to find my upload problem, but i have to solder the additional clock wire first.
Do you have soldered this wire from CTCM to CTPCI?

Re: Temperatures / CT60 Instability

Hi, What you can do is to pray that the ship with my Atari stuff wont sink. ;-) I will!! In fact i could not sleep well with the knowledge that my Falcons were ...alone...in the dark...somewhere on the ocean... I cross my fingers for you that it all goes well. Perhaps use a military steel box ...

CT60CONF.CPX user clock divider

Hi,

while waiting for my ordered usb cards...
Can you please explain what exactly is this "user clock divider" in CT60CONF.CPX/Memory yP/?
Basically, what is the user clock?

Thanks in advance,
Latz

Re: Temperatures

Hi, 060 has an internal thermal sensor in the DIE and connected on 2 pins of the 060... On the CT60 an analog/digital convecter gives values from this sensor . This is IC11 on the CT60 board, a TLV831CD. See http://powerphenix.com/ct60/CT63_schematics.pdf . Perhaps you can examine the contacts of th...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

Hi,

thank you mikro and David for this great support!!

I removed my USB card. It´s a VIA Technologies with chip "VT6212L". So this card can be listed as
"not working".

@wongck, can you please tell me which card you use?

Hi, first problem solved: I removed the USB card from my "main" Falcon... ...and now upload is working perfect! Transferred zipfiles 2-13 MB to my LinuxPC with an average speed of 2700 MB/sec with Litchi, a 100 MB mp3 file with ~1900 MB/sec. Great, i´m really happy!! :D But this does not e...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

Hi, this is when loading the rtl8139.xif driver. Are you shure that you use the correct .xif? Perhaps your C: is corrupted (run "dosfsck -a" or "-r" like suggested)? I use this build for testing Davids new kernels, if that helps: https://github.com/freemint/freemint.github.io/tre...

Hi, However, in TOS it does not work. My idea was to boot to TOS and use HDdriver app to partition to DOS/TOS compatible. But it is not even showing as a drive in TOS. Just in case that i can find a working USB card: What are your settings in HDDRUTIL.APP/Settings/Devices+Partitions/? (Screenshot?) ...

mint060_pcibios2 works correct here (exept my upload problem), like trunk2101 with disabled pciwrapper.
Tested NFS, Litchi and some web apps.

Great work, David!!

Hi, Latz, sometimes it might be possible to use the camera on your phone Good idea, but not possible here. Both Falcons are mounted in 19" rack cases and there´s not enough space under or between the cards to take a photo. My USB card don´t work. Tested all usb ports one after another with keyb...

Re: CTPCI and USB card

Hi, Is a USB card with the NEC µPD720101 chip? Unfortunetly my PCI cards are mounted horizontally "upside down" (chips are on bottom side), so i can´t see that. Would have to remove the card, but it´s well fixed with some screws. If my USB test ends negative, i´ll remove the card and then ...

Hi, sorry, i just wanted to "share my pain" a little bit  Another thing if I understand your post, you seem to say that the USB devices (mouse, keyboard, etc) are not working with CT60TOS either (without the MiNT kernel running), if so this seems a different problem. Which CT60TOS be...

Ah, i see, thank you.
But this seems to be a slightly different problem as he had no freezes with ftp transfer.

Perhaps offtopic: In CT60CONF.CPX/Memory µP/, what´s this "user clock divider" setting for (set to /2 here)?
What is your setting?
