Wanted: Atari Mega ST case with keyboard

I would be interested in buying a Mega ST case with keyboard. Can someone build me the circuit board to allow the use of the Atari keyboard with new hardware in the case? I want to put a PC inside the case but still use the original keyboard and mouse maybe. Will use a USB or PS/2 mouse if I have to...

Re: EasyAraMint : a modern OS for Aranym

Netsurf seems to be a bit unreliable browsing sites. Do you mean that it crashes often or that you can't access many web sites? In the second case, Netsurf can't deal with flash, so bye bye music, video and other fancy stuff. It fails even on the atari forums site. Just basic sites it stops working...

Re: EasyAraMint : a modern OS for Aranym

Netsurf seems to be a bit unreliable browsing sites. Troll worked great. Put in my corporate gmail account via IMAP and the SSL connection and it loaded the messages no problem! I never had the experience of a nice operating system on my Atari back in the day. I never got the chance use Neodesk, ter...

Re: EasyAraMint : a modern OS for Aranym

This keyboard layout is a USA-P file modified to work with a iMac and its external keyboard. I will test it on a MacBook keyboard and see if it works. UPDATE: This does work on a MacBook and on a iMac with an external keyboard. I zipped it because the forum would not let me keep the tbl extension an...

Re: EasyAraMint : a modern OS for Aranym

How do you change the keyboard layout? I cant use the email app as the @ symbol does not work on my keyboard. There are a lot of keys that are not mapped correctly. Is this a Easymint thing or is this a Aranym thing?

Re: EasyAraMint : a modern OS for Aranym

SUCCESS on MacAranym and WIFI.... Since the keyboard within MacAranym settings does not type the correct keys, I manually edited the config file from OSX using text editor. Here are my network settings in the config file: [ETH0] Type = bridge ip Tunnel = en1 HostIP = 192.168.0.1 AtariIP = 192.168.0....

Re: EasyAraMint : a modern OS for Aranym

In fact it's en0 to en1 on OSX May be you could have a look to Ph DONZE page, he's explaining how to set Wifi up. Something to see with MAC address. I have never been so far. I think you are right. There was something I had to do with the MAC address back when I was experimenting with it. I did get...

Re: EasyAraMint : a modern OS for Aranym

I tried the setup and the german screens stopped me from choosing the correct options. I followed the readme but it was not exactly as the steps so the process fails. It goes to a mint command line and no farther.
I will use the other setup and see if I can get it working on the network somehow.

Hi, After boot you have to setup the atari side according to step 7 with "Network Setup" (aka : Enick) located in "Setup" folder - folder with gears icon- on the desktop. At the end reboot of Aranym and you will be connected to the NET. You are at 5 min to complete your setup :w...

Re: Aranym weird Keyboard behaviour

Not much feed back on that issue so far :( I had Aranym setup like a Firebee thanks to the help from users here. I dont use it however as there are no applications that I can use to make it a daily user. No email, no true internet browsers. If we could somehow catch up on the software side I think ...

Re: Atari World & Atari Computing Mags going online

About the time these magazines came out I was trying out this new operating system called Windows 95. I installed it on a computer I pieced together and used the 31 floppies to install it. The 1040STfm was set aside. I wish I would have known about all these upgrades coming out during this time. I w...

Re: Coming soon! Steem SSE 3.6

The last time I used Hatari the UI felt like a free Linux application from 1996, the mouse didn't track correctly in the UI window, and it wasn't possible to even get the pointer to reach some of the buttons. Has it improved since then? The Steem Boiler room is intuitive, powerful and simple. How d...

Re: Finally purchased a Firebee!

The problem with ARAnyM is that you have to be an actual wizard to get networking up and running. So creating an ARAnyM version of the Firebee's FreeMiNT/software setup is not trivial. The networking was pretty simple with the MAC version of Aranym. I got it to work on Windows 7 as well. Not too ha...

Re: Before ST

My first computer was a HeathKit H80 that I built with my father in 1981. The screen and keyboard were one unit and the 5 1/4" floppy drives were in a seperate case. (later became hard drive case for my ST) We soldered every component on the boards, assembled is, flashed the BIOS and ran CPM on...
