Re: Snes on FPGA may get sof file release for de 10 nano mister

Kinda seems like an odd mistake to make, have you tried it? I don't have one at the moment to test.

SNES Core WIP

How has no one mentioned this? Apparently mister support was added in July:

https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/comm ... or_mister/

Has anyone tried it?

Re: SMS core

Keep in mind this may be in keeping with original hardware though, if you have a real SMS I'd suggest comparing. It could just be that video timings are now accurate. Video timings are difficult to replicate as they are not very well documented and can only really be replicated by studdying the orig...

FS: MiST from Lothratek

Selling my MiST since it doesn't really get used anymore.

In good shape other than the usb power port which broke so just hard wired a usb cable to it.

Just the system itself, no sd or cables - £75 plus postage

Re: FPGAgen

I don't know how many clocks there are or how they are organised but it should be as simple as scaling each one. Not that I really know much about how FPGAs work yet.

I'm aware what the current options are, just responding to the point of PAL not being necessary.

Re: FPGAgen

In most cases there is no need to play any PAL ports as they are usually inferior because of their lower framerate. There are only a few exclusives for the PAL territory. Most of these can be patched in the manner described above (for the more popular games like Mega Man or Zero Wing there are even...

Quartus Compilation Questions

Hey guys I'm interested in tinkering with some cores and I've got quartus installed but any change takes forever to compile, no matter how small. Is there a way to only compile changes in quartus or do I have to synthesize every time? I tried rapid recompile but it always errors out so always have t...

Oh is it not 15khz enabled? That's a shame, I too am using my MIST on a CRT TV.

Extra MIST I/O?

I'm looking at adding the nesseccary signals to mist so it can drive the motor on a real floppy drive but for that I'll need 4 I/O pins and mist only provides 2, are there any other free pins actually on the fpga or any that are expendable? There's not much I can see that can be sacrificed on the bo...

Re: Most wanted new MIST cores (possible poll)

I second X68000 and would definitely like to see more arcade cores, donkey kong etc would be the obvious choices but I wonder if CPS1 would fit on the MIST? That would obviously open up games such as Final Fight, Street Fighter 2, Punisher etc. To be honest, there are many arcade platforms that supp...

Re: MiST and RGB Output

To be honest for me it's the authenticity of playing on an old TV as well as the fact that I use one in my setup of many game consoles so would be tedious to trot out a VGA monitor every time I wanted to use the MIST. Some games take full advantage of the way old CRTs work as well to draw certain ef...

This is actually amazing, I absolutely love the YM2151 and having a core that is accurate can only help with possible future FPGA implementations of classic arcade games!

I still think an X68000 vote would be amazing but sadly no cores exist and it's a pretty complex platform from what I'm aware.

Actually, did anyone notice this Donkey Kong project:

There's a source there for a spartan 3 board too.

Re: Port to Mist? Arcade cores Bagman & Crazy Kong.

You know just about all systems currently implemented on MIST originally used SRAM? The RAM found on those boards is likely to be much slower than say that found in an Amiga.

EDIT I see that the author opted to use external real SRAM instead so that's why.

Re: MIST no longer boots

It was stored in a box at my safe storage place so wouldn't be because of damp. I did wonder if the sd card was knocked but opening it up the contacts look fine though I will have a go at resold wring them anyway just in case. Yeah I don't think it's a firmware issue either but then I can't flash it...

Power jack installation

So I need to add a power jack now and cut a hole in the case as the micro USB socket has ripped off the board and taken some of the solder pads with it :x

Does anyone know what jack will fit?

Not having much luck with the MIST lately!

Re: MIST no longer boots

The SD looks fine and it's the one I've been using since I got the MIST.

I hadn't changed anything on the card but I just updated it all to the latest core and firmware from github but still doesn't boot, just gives me the two flash error code which means no system found on SD. I can't work it out.
