Re: FS: Mega ST/E/TT keyboard coiled cable, new production

An RJ11 connector has 6 positions but only 4 of them are used, so yes, a female RJ11 connector would only have 4 pins.

Re: FS: Mega ST/E/TT keyboard coiled cable, new production

The only difference between a RJ11 connector and a RJ12 connector is that the RJ11 is 6p4c and RJ12 is 6p6c.

I think Atari uses the 6 contacts, correct me if I'm wrong.
Greetings.

Pin 1,2 and 5,6 share the same signals (+5VDC and GND respectively) so 6 positions with 4 contacts should be sufficient.

Great work Thomas! Good presentation and nice effects! Like it! If you enjoy programming (demos), you should consider moving on to assembly language. I think you'd really enjoy it!

As a coder I appreciate the beauty of this but ... isn't this just a waste of (your) resources? What's wrong with patching, say, the desktop resolution dialog and let the user choose appropriate resolution, similarly as PeP did with his SuperVidel driver? For any serious work (copying files, runnin...

Re: Troubles with 1040STe locking up or bombing out

The hours specified for a capacitor (usually 1,000-5,000) hours is for the endurance test at their rated temperature, i.e., 1,000h at 105C. This does not mean that they go bad after 1,000h. It just means that they are no longer guaranteed to have the same specifications. The useful life for a capaci...

Re: Recapping -which type of electrolytic capacitors?

I've recapped my Falcon computers using Panasonic FR capacitors for both the low-voltage side of the PSU and the motherboard and have had no issues afterwards. The FR series are excellent capacitors. Rated for 105 C and a minimum life of 5000-10000 hours at 105 C (longer at lower temperatures). They...

Re: psu.why & how to replace the dreaded capacitors in ATARI ST!

Hi I'm going to recap my Mitsumi sr98 PSU from 520 STFM. After disassembly, I saw that capacitors are Jamicon SK series (not low-ESR http://yustaltd.ru/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/SK.pdf). I'm wondering, why Atari used that series of caps. What do You think about it? Most likely for no reasons other...

I've got a Swedish MegaST board and TT board. Both bought brand new. I put an external keyboard connector at the side of my Falcon so I can use them with it. Still would like a C-Lab MKX case though. :D

And my floppy works :) The ED drive? Awesome! Did you get an option to format ED in the Desktop or do you have to use 3rd party software for that? You may have the only working Falcon030 equipped with an ED drive! No no no no no. We are just discussing where the clock comes from :) Oh, now I see......

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

Yeah, I think most typical desktop icons were pretty large, but not terrible if you used something like 640x400, but the interlacing sure was terrible... I really liked the MagicWB icon set. One feature I really like on the Amiga is the pull down screen that could have independent resolutions. Stil...

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

Ha ha. The one thing I always liked about the Amiga Workbench is the 'animated' icons (granted they were just highlighted/unhighlighted, but they could be different.) That and they didn't really have a standard size (which is a plus / minus I guess depending on your perspective.) Agree, but at leas...

Re: Sick M-STE HELP NEEDED !!! !!!! !!!!

I had a Mega STE a lopong time ago and I have vague memory of that the SCSI interface in it could only make use of one device and it had to have a specific SCSI ID in order to be found. If you changed the jumpers around you might have changed the SCSI ID to something the interface won't recognize.

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

Wow, I'd never thought of doing that with NEWDESK.INF. That's brilliant. Is there any sort of GUI manager for that? Like you could have it auto-rename things like AUTOSORT, XBOOT, etc do? Then you could have something like 'ACTIVITY' folder with various named INF files that could be moved around an...
