Yep. A lot of European countries use a comma for the decimal point.

Re: Falcon030 Blitter emulation in Hatari

Hi Nicolas, It doesn't seem to be a x2 difference in cycles. I was on the very edge of using 100% CPU time on real hardware so not a big deal. A bit of optimizing and the problem was gone. However, I discovered a much more serious problem today when I put on the headphones for the first time since I...

Re: Falcon030 Blitter emulation in Hatari

Thanks for the reply. I'll have tun run some more tests to try and figure out what's going on. In some cases I rely on the fact that the blitter and CPU can run in paralell on the F030 as long as the instructions and data accessed after starting the blitter are precached (no bus activity by CPU). Pe...

Falcon030 Blitter emulation in Hatari

Hi, I'm working on a project at the moment where I use the Blitter in the Falcon030. The code works perfectly well on a real Falcon030 at 50fps, but in Hatari the Blitter seems to use more cycles than on the real machine. How exact are the Falcon030 blitter emulation in Hatari? I'm using the blitter...

Re: ATARI ST PSU REPLACEMENT ( Power supply unit )

Thanks. Have to say that I find it scary with the mains cables routed to the front of the PSU though, so close to the keyboard.

The error message is common at AF when you make a post, don't know why. The posts always seem to make it though.
Where do you buy these PSUs? Are they used or brand new?

Re: Modern multisync monitors?

120 EUR isn't that bad. Think they were around 800 EUR new and the monitor is still up to par with other 24 inch monitors on the market today. 6ms IPS screen with great colors. I found 2 for 110 EUR each here in Sweden. Bought both of them as they were just a 30 min drive away.

Re: efficient polygon drawing

1. To simplify things, draw triangles instead of polygons, it's a lot simpler. Each triangle is divided up into 2 triangles (one upper and one lower). 2. Don't use Bresenham to scan the edges, use DDA with fixed point arithmetic. 3. Sorting of y coordinates is done only once per triangle. 4. Identif...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

I completely agree that the situation is not good, especially not with a 100 more CosmosEx soon to be shipped. I can only assume that quite a few of those will be used with Falcons. I guess you can write Jookie and let him know that there are more people hitting these bugs. I got the impression that...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

Ouch. Doesn't sound good. I usually backup files from my Atari to the PC using the network connection and shared drive capabilities of the CosmosEx, but I may have to check and make sure that the files are OK. I did quite some extensive testing about 1-2 years ago but didn't have any problems copyin...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

Yes, it's a little bit of a mess. The CosmosEx is still useful on a Falcon030, but you have to watch out and know how to work around the bugs otherwise you must certainly will end up with corrupted data. Hopefully someday Jookie (or somebody else) will be able to fix the bugs. I think you were hit b...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

No, the bug is still there, and it seems to be in the firmware, so nothing much we can do about it. I know Jookie worked hard on it but wasn't able to solve it. There's actually 2 bugs, the first one hits SD-cards and USB memory sticks and prevents copying of larger files. This one is a firmware bug...

Re: Power Supply Centuriontech or Exxos

Some talk about the exxos PSU vs Centuriontech PSU here: https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=255&start=60#p11093 Seems like the Centuriontech PSU is not quite up to the task of powering a CT2 (powered by the 12V rail). In general I'd say the Centuriontech PSU was designed f...

Re: Dual monitor setup?

Thanks for the info. Do you know if medium resolution will work on the 2412 monitor? I'm thinking I could live with that over mono as the picture is still pretty good. Yes, seems like it's able sync to 15kHz horizontal and 50Hz vertical, so low and medium resolutions should be OK. Give it a go. Ada...

Re: Dual monitor setup?

That's just a general message when the monitor can't sync. The U2412 isn't known to accept a wide range of frquencies. The U2410 is the one you want. You can't change the refresh rate of the mono signal. It's fixed. So unless your monitor supports it there's not much you can do.
