Re: Atari Portable

Yeah, I fully appreciate the potential issues with a dock! :) It would require a mechanical fixing of some kind once attached to make it secure / completely reliable. After all, connections like an IDE style dual pin header / socket and very reliable if they are secured. It could be the dock style ...

Re: Atari Portable

Indeed a cartridge port was what I was thinking too for dongles etc... I'm not sure on price as yet, in thoery the parts aren't too bad, but minimum run for getting boards built at the fab house I use is 100 units. I'm a bit doubtful I could shift 100 of these... lol. :) But I would think perhaps a...

Re: CT60(e) + bus acceleration

I have the DSP with its own crystal, accelerated all the time (was not stable if it got the clock from the CT60, but that's my motherboard, not the CT60). And yes, the speed boost is very good without SV. Since SV, I don't use the speed boost. Watch your SCSI reliability if you want experimenting wi...

Re: The most ridiculous cooling problem

The clock patch must be removed in case of the CT60. Not sure about the CT60e. Don't know how it is related to the fan though. Are you sure about clock patch (please double check). I used many years ct63 (107mhz stock ct63 cooling system and stock closed falcon case) with clock path, and use ct60e ...

Re: Software/OS Patching for CT60

Stability was an issue "back in the day". Might not matter much today since not much work is being done with TOS, just don't forget to disable Wdialog before booting MiNT. Oh, I didn't know that. I must admit, that I don't use plain TOS too much either. Only when trying to run 030 softwar...

Maybe because COPS needs Wdialog on plain TOS.

And what is the drawback of using WDIALOG (except the memory usage)?

Re: Dilemma: Mega STE or not Mega STE?

1. Games, that work on an STE will work on the MegaSTE too (99%, you can swith it to 8Mhz and can turn the caches off. The only difference is in the tos 1.6 vs 2.6). 2. Cubase welcomes the extra speed. 3-4. Replacing the fan is a pita. I wouldn't remove it completely. I don't like heat :) And depend...

Btw., my CT60 (the original one) with SV is stable at 75Mhz. Very instable between 75-92Mhz. And at 93Mhz it becomes stable again.

Isn't there a jumper on the SV which purpose is to "clean" the CT60's bus from noise? Try removing that jumper.

All these chips aleady have been syntetisized in VHDL. Look at MiST. Look at Suska. Look at Firebee. nope you are wrong. prove it... MiST ATARI ST core is functioning and quite compatible SUSKA also is working (never seen one by myself) Frebee is also there, already seen some So what is missing? If...

Apollo 68080 and SAGA is a freetime hobby project. What is commercial, that is the Vampire board, the hardware which you can touch. That is a clean separation. You can read all of Apollo status on the Apollo website which is http://www.apollo-core.com and you can see that this website doesn't sell ...
