Re: Version Control Software

Thank you mfro, at the start I will definitely be only working locally & to be honest I'd be surprised if that ever changed, but I do need to use VC as it is so easy to lose track of some of these changes !!!

I am trying to cut down on user input, lp, so I don't want to use the "more..." option. I did look at the "Menu" command in the manual but it's like reading Chinese  !!! Can you please expand / explain your comment "design your own dialog box with a resource editor&qu...

Putting multi-choice to the user ...

The program I am working on is Text only, It uses basic Input & Alert lines to request information from the user. I want to add a new question and an Alert box seemed like the ideal solution, but it seems to only support 3 possible choices, when I need 4 ... is there a simple command I can use (...

Re: DEFFN command

IMHO this is an unreadable mess. I personally would convert it into a commented multiline FUNCTION, assuming you have GFABASIC 3 or later. Huge areas of the program are "an unreadable mess" unfortunately, but I don't have the time or the knowledge to rewrite it all :-( Thanks for replying...

Re: DEFFN command

Thank you, if it's getting data from reading a file then that could explain why it causes a crash if I try to print it after it's run, it's probably taking data from somewhere it shouldn't, there is loads of data in this program, it's a nightmare trying to find what is what !!!

Some clarification please ...

Hi all, I'm back at this big GFA game again after ages of not looking at GFA Basic. I want to make some of the program easier to follow & understand, so that if I am away from it for months at a time again, it won't be quite so difficult to get back into !!! So, a straightforward question ... I ...

Yes, thank you, just found it ... it's where the Source has a Tab character instead of spaces !!!

Can anybody explain why a GFA Basic program that runs just fine in Vista & displays 30 lines should run exactly the same in Windows 7 but only display 25 lines ?

Re: I have errors that I cannot see !!!

It's nothing to do with the case or the path type, this is code that has worked for years, all I have done is copied some from one program to another and hit these problems. I moved all my Gemul8r files & re-installed it from scratch and it got past this, it's giving me another strange error, bu...
