Re: ST World Magazine Scans

Looking at them again, they are free issues that came with Atari ST User in the middle of 1991. I don't know if that makes them more or less interesting. One contains a review of a +£1000 Hayes 9066 baud modem - something to show the kids of today :-)

Re: ST World Magazine Scans

I've just found three issues... if there is much call for them I could try scanning them at some point.

In the same box were some public domain catalogues... not much need for scanning those, I expect :-)

Depending on size and weight, I have found parcelmonkey to be cheaper in some cases so worth checking too.

FS: Protar Progate 40 (with second disk)

For sale is a sturdy Protar Progate 40 hard disk drive. It is populated with a second disk which is ~250mb if I remember correctly. I gather you can plug additional devices into the scsi adapter, although I have never used it for this. It comes with the driver disk. It is in good working condition b...

FS: Atari 1040STF

1040 stf in box with poly inserts. Has UK TOS 1.04 and a UK keyboard and has a large floppy-disk button. The case only has minor yellowing. The top is a little bit loose and a previous owner has drilled a hole in the back (for a tos switcher?). It works fine with the small exception of the reset but...

3D printed keys

I have a couple external keyboards (one mega and one mega ste) but neither of them have a complete set of unbroken keys. I have been unable to find replacements, which seems a common story. I was wondering if anyone has tried using 3d printing to create replacements? My gut feeling is that it would ...

Re: Ultar Satan for sale on ebay

The slim version looks interesting indeed. Are the photos with the cover mising or is the case open on the top side? The website does say "Please do not BUY. Final stage of case preparation" so it could be missing a lid but I get the impression it is meant to be a case just to support fit...

I've got an STF1040 looking for a home for £25 if you have no luck getting an STe/STFM. It is boxed with original poly inserts... if that swings it.

That looks very interesting indeed... wonder if it could replace an internal drive (can't see mention of the size) or if it could work as an external drive.

FS: Hisoft Lattice C 5.5

I would like to sell my copy of Hisoft Lattice C... seeing as the software can be easily downloaded, the real value is most probably in the manuals. The package contents are: Volume I, User Manual; Volume II, Library Manual; Volume III, Atari Library Manual; Addendum, User Manual; Addendum, Librarie...

Random / odd box of software going cheap/free

I am having a sift through the spare room and found a box of Atari software that I must have got as part of a larger deal - it doesn't hold any special value to me and I doubt there are any £1,000,000 gems amongst them, so am looking for a better home for them. I don't want anything for them other t...

Re: WANTED: loose falcon grey keys

Has anyone had any experience with 3D printing - could this be used to make spare key caps? I am after a couple of mega st/ste keyboard keys to replace broken ones and have had no luck finding any either... maybe it would be possible to "print" spares.

Re: ebay fees - some ideas

Listing on ebay is near free, but it's the backend fees (6 different ones at last count) of over 20% the really get me. But it does have the reach that other places cannot match. Kind like the chicken and the egg situation. I find it frustrating that there doesn't seem to be decent competition to p...

Re: Is it me or is there a lot of silly prices on eBay right

For the money, you would have thought they would have gone to the trouble of including a picture of it. :-) Just checked their other auctions... there is something for every budget... from £1.21 ... to £475,002.69! (nearly half a million pounds for a street atlas from 2003 and still no picture). Ste...

I know the chances of finding one in virtually mint condition are slim but you never know! I recall seeing one a few years ago that was unopened, so as mint as it gets.... but they were looking for something daft like £250. It might still be possible to get something without any damage but only wit...

Re: Here's my 'colour wash' guide for fixing manual scans

When I had cause to scan some research papers, I found placing a piece of black card behind the page being scanned would avoid any leak-through. Prevention is better than cure :-), although it is not an option with a document sheet feeder. Otherwise, I tend to use the "adjust levels" in ph...
